We agree to the following terms:

Shared Goals

General

1. A emotional support system for the year and beyond

The year at ISB can often be entrenched with rigor. But, in the race to conquer that rigor, we
forget the undue pressure we lay on ourselves to do achieve the same. That pressure often
blurs the line of professional hustle and personal equanimity. Our study group would like to
act as a constant anchor to balance the equation in that regard. Whichever space the
individual members of the group to perform in, the study group will be an inclusive
emotional support system to help them through, if they find themselves off balance.

2. Personal bonding
A continuation of the aforementioned point, in every common session that we have together
class centred or otherwise, we would keep a minimum time of 10 minutes set apart for
conversation beyond the classroom. This will act as a buffer for till the time we are not
meeting each other and also will give us a space to bond.

3. Focus on health and fitness

A mandatory daily focus on diet, health, sleep, and fitness, followed up by the group as a
whole for each of the members.

4. Supporting each other in developing/improving non-academic skills

The group understands the importance of non-academic skills in the holistic development of
each member. So, based on each member’s identification of the skill that they want to focus
upon, every member would make sure to support the other in setting milestones, and
achieving the same.

5. Giving equal opportunity of leadership to everyone (Lead Eagle)

The group would decide project leaders for all projects – academic, extracurricular, or
otherwise – who would ensure the planning, take lead on creation, and would ensure timely
execution of the same by rallying the group around it. The idea is to give equal opportunities
of leadership, learning, and responsibility to every member of regardless of their background
and future professional intentions.

Academic

1. A group member to put forward his/her name for Lead Eagle within one hour of a
project assigned to the group.
The step is an attempt to bring forward promptness in the way the members take up
leadership for every project that comes the group’s way. More so, this will ensure that
leadership is spread across all members of the group equally.
2. Strict adherence to academic timelines and deadlines
It will be the responsibility of every member of the group to not only stick to timelines and
deadlines themselves, but also ensure that other members of the group follow the same. In
case, a member is unable to follow the deadlines due to unforeseen circumstances, the other
members of the group would try to shoulder the member’s responsibility.
3. Pre-preparation for classes/meeting/projects/assignment discussions
Every member of the group would complete pre-requisite materials for every
classes/meeting/projects/assignment discussions
4. Academic support by the group as a whole
It will be the responsibility of the group as a whole to map the weaknesses & strengths of
every member before an academic course begins and support them as the course, and the year
at ISB, progresses.

Participation expectations
1. A bi-weekly meeting
A team bi-weekly meeting – virtual or physical - has to be conducted to regularly follow up
on academics, professional commitments, and other elements.
2. Strict adherence to meeting timings
3. Creation and maintenance of a group fund for slip-ups
Every member of the group would contribute a pre-determined sum of money in a small
group sourced fund for slip-ups including but not limited to, unjustified absence from group
meetings and phone calls, lack of pre-preparation for classes and projects, general inadequacy
to meeting previously accepted team commitments, and others.

Decision Making Rules

1. Specific stoppage time for new decision making

There will be a specific deadline/stoppage time for decision making, after which no new
decision would be made on the project at hand. This is an attempt to ensure efficient and
timely decision on the part of the group as a whole. Also, it opens up a space to change a
decision in case of unforeseen circumstances.
2. Group tricky decision, sleep on it.
If there is a hung group, the initial step would be to take a step back by the group as a whole,
possibly a distance from the discussion at hand for a few hours at minimum. This is being
done to ensure that the group always comes back with a fresh perspective on the complex
discussion at hand and the previous indecision doesn’t hamper the larger group camaraderie.
3. The Lead Eagle would take a final decision in cases of hung group
In the extreme case of indecision after the aforementioned 2 steps, the specific Lead Eagle of
the project at hand would take the final decision/call

Meeting guidelines
1. Decision of upcoming meeting timeslot to be pre-decided at every meeting
Every meeting would end with a decision on the next meeting date and time.
2. Video should be on
Every member is expected to keep their videos on during the entirety of the video meeting.

Norms for Handling Disagreements

1. Look for unanimity in every decisions

The core ethic of the group is to find unanimity in every decision made. The group intends to
work as a single organism, and it would be the attempt of every member to bring about a
solution that is accepted by every member.
2. A thorough walkthrough of the process of the aggrieved individual
In case a disagreement persists, the group would create a specific space/meeting to
understand the aggrieved individual rationale behind his/her decision and if the group and
internalise the same to come to a final decision.
3. If a walkthrough doesn’t work, the group does a voting
This point is different that what has been previously discussed about Team Eagles final call is
different from this one. That point was a specific action in cases of mostly
academic/professional scenarios. In scenarios with much larger complexity and scope, the
group as a whole would do a voting to come to a decision.

How to give feedback to each other

1. Utilising the 10 minute space of personal interaction

At the end of every meeting there would be a 10 minute space to discuss more personal
avenues within the group. This space would be a space for vulnerability where members can
express freely and on topics beyond ISB too. This space must be used for intra-group
validation too.

2. If there is critical feedback, then the individual is promoted to approach the

other individual privately.
If any member of the group has critical feedback for another member, it is prompted that
he/she approaches the said member privately and express the same. The two members then
can decide to bring forth the issue Infront of the whole group if they both agree to do so.

Communication Commitment

1. Mediums of communication, in order of priority –

a. Whatsapp
b. Phone/Call
c. Teams
2. No message must be ignored for more than 1 hour
3. Active communication is a must on the mediums decided above.

Code of Conduct

We, members of the study group E-7 of ISB PGP Co’23, understand all the terms of the
contract laid here. Every member has had equal contribution in formulating the contract,
understands the meaning, extent, and validity of every term, and accepts to abide by the
contract as a whole. The terms of the contract would stay permanent until every member
choses to change some/all terms based on justified rationale, if needed. The contract would be
valid for the period of existence of the study group.
