RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

This study follows a correlation survey design. It is cross-sectional and both qualitative

and quantitative in nature. In analytical research, the researcher has to use facts or information

that have already been available and analyze them to make a critical evaluation. The function of

research design is to provide for the collection of relevant information with minimal expenditure

of effort, time and money (Catherin, R, & Ranji, 2002).

Flow of Study

Research Environment

This Study will be conducted virtually with the use of survey questionnaires on Google

Forms. The locale of the study will originate within Ormoc City, Leyte province. Where Grade

12 GAS students of ACLC College of Ormoc, the population selected for the study, resides refer

to Appendix C for the location map.

Research Respondents

This study will be conducted among 50 senior high students from two different tracks of

ACLC College of Ormoc, namely: Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track and Academic

Track that consists of four different strands; General Academic Strand (GAS), Humanities and

Social Sciences (HUMMS), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and

Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM).

Research Instruments

Quantitative research served as the methodology in assisting the researchers in

ascertaining the answers to the research questions. Fraenkel, Wallen, and Hyun (2012) indicated

that quantitative research examines cause and effect, is developed prior to the study, utilizes

deductive reasoning to examine theories, employs standardized measurements, and analyzes

numerical data.

In this study, the researchers utilized a survey questionnaire to obtain the data. The first

part obtained information about the name of the respondent, age, grade level, and class section.
The second part consists of following questions that the respondents will rate on a five-point

scale 1 being very unsatisfied and 5 being very satisfied:

1. My instructors had a thorough knowledge of the subject content.

2. My instructors provided opportunities to ask questions.

3. My instructors treated me with respect.

4. My instructors understood my learning needs.

5. My instructors communicated the subject content effectively.

6. My instructors made the subject as interesting as possible.

Research Procedures

This section presents the gathering of data and statistical tools to be used in the study.

Data Gathering. Prior to the actual data gathering, the researcher will send a transmittal

letter to the director of ACLC College of Ormoc asking permission to conduct the study. After

the approval, a questionnaire along with a consent form will be sent to the expected participants

which are senior high school students of ACLC College of Ormoc. The questionnaires will be

distributed and will be answered by the respondents through Google Forms. Participants will be

informed that participation is voluntary and that they can withdraw from the study at any time

without consequence.

Treatment of Data. The following statistical tools will be used in the study:

5-Point Likert Scale will be used to calculate the average or the level of satisfaction of
students through their answers on the provided survey questionnaire.

Tabulation will be used to have a well-ordered and systematic demonstration of the

numerical data to analyse and check all the data efficiently.

Conduct of Distance Learning Modalities at ACLC College of Ormoc. The findings of the
study would serve as the basis of the proposed action plan. The target respondents are those
students who are enrolled in ACLC College of Ormoc SY 2021–2022.

In this connection, we are asking your permission to allow us to distribute our survey
questionnaire to your students. The selected students will be given twenty (20) minutes to answer
the questionnaire. All the gathered data will be kept confidential.

We are looking for your favorable response on this matter.

Respectfully yours,
