After administration:
1. To ensure proper
dosing and to prevent
actuator orifice
blockage, instruct
patients to wash the
actuator with warm
water and let it air-dry
completely at least
once a week. Inform
patients that detailed
cleaning instructions
are included in the
Patient Information
leaflet.
2. Tell patient that this
drug may make you
dizzy. Do not drive,
use machinery, or do
anything that needs
alertness until you can
do it safely. Limit
alcoholic beverages.
3. Store at room
temperature away from
moisture, heat, or cold
temperatures.
4. Store Ventolin HFA
with the mouthpiece
down.
5. Keep the inhaler
canister away from
open flame or high
heat. The canister may
explode if it gets too
hot. Do not puncture or
burn an empty inhaler
canister.
6. Note for signs of
overdosage
7. Rinse with water if this
medicine gets in your
eyes.
8. Advise patients to
report signs of side
effects
