PRINT MEDIA one of the oldest and basic forms of mass communication.

It includes newspapers, weeklies, magazines, monthlies, and other forms of printed


journals. A basic understanding of the print media is essential in the study of mass
communication.

EXAMPLES OF PRINT MEDIA


NEWSPAPERS- a publication that is issued daily or weekly and includes local
and international news stories, advertisements, announcements, opinions,
cartoons, sports news, and television listings.
PHILIPPINE BROADSHEETS- a standard or full-sized newspaper that takes a
serious look at major news stories.

PHILIPPINE TABLOIDS-A smaller than standard newspaper which focuses on less


"serious" content, especially celebrities, sports, and sensationalist crime stories.
BOOKS
Is the earliest form of print media
that consists of fictional or non-fictional
information that is glued together and
sewn with a bound cover. It can be
textbook, novel, autobiography, a coffee
table book, an anthology of poems, essays,
and short stories.
MAGAZINES
provides information that may be more in
depth but less timely than that of, for
example, a newspaper. A magazine can
typically focus on trends or issues, and it
can provide background information for
news events.

NEWSLETTERS
A newsletter is a tool used by businesses and
organizations to share relevant and valuable
information with their network of customers,
prospects, and subscribers. Newsletters give you
direct access to your audience's inbox, allowing you
to share engaging content, promote sales and drive
traffic to your website.

JOURNALS
A journal is a periodical publication
intended to further progress of
science, usually by reporting new
research.
BROADCAST MEDIA
It provides the
recorded content, digital
and written content, or live
recording on radio,
television, or any other
means through satellite
signals.

TELEVISION
The invention of the television was done long after
the newspapers were considered the original form
of media. It turned out to be one of the most
effective mediums of delivering information as it
was used for various purposes.
RADIO
It is the oldest type of media, and people
use it today for knowing weather forecasts
and traffic. Radio has extended coverage
as it enjoys millions of listeners across the
nation.
FILMS OR MOVIES
 It's the best type of mass media to promote
cultures and spread social
awareness. Movies have
always played a huge part in
the entertainment world.

DIGITAL MEDIA
Digital media is any form of media that uses electronic devices for
distribution. This form of media can be created, viewed, modified, and
distributed via electronic devices.

AUDIO
Digital audio is a technology that is
used to record, store, manipulate,
generate, and reproduce sound using
audio signals that have been
encoded in digital form.

DIGITAL VIDEO
Digital video content comprises TV shows,
movies, music videos and advertisements that
are viewed online on various digital platforms. It
represents one of the most convenient modes of
entertainment, which is accessible through
smartphones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs.

HOLOGRAMS
Holography is a unique method of
photography whereby 3D objects are
recorded using a laser and then restored
as precisely as possible to
match the originally recorded
object.

OUTDOOR MEDIA
It typically consists of any advertising seen outside of
the home and is primarily grouped into a few specific
categories. Billboards, posters, and transit to name a
few.

Billboards are some giant
posters that are displayed in
some of the most popular
locations in the area. Now, these
giant posts are the ones that
have some advertisement about
the product or the services.

TRANSIT
This type of outdoor advertising is
typically seen on trains and busses.

stop at the store while on their way
home, making this very
opportunistic depending on your

Social media refers to the

The term social networking refers to the use of internet-based social
media sites to stay connected with friends, family, colleagues,
customers, or clients. Social networking can have a social purpose, a
business purpose, or both, through sites like Facebook, Twitter,
LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Video allows you to be concise and
capture viewers' interest in the first
few seconds. Social media success
lies in your ability to condense
information down into easily
digestible snippets of content that
is long enough to maintain viewers'
