Project Summary
 
A multi-disciplinary design and build project to upgrade the existing Network Rail infrastructure and
stations between Stratford and Shenfield to accommodate Crossrail trains as they leave the eastern
portal and join the existing Greater Anglia network. The work involves platform extensions, station
refurbishment, step free access, telecommunications and power supply upgrades, track modifications and
overhead line re-alignment. The project will interface with the signaling upgrade and other Greater Anglia
projects.
 
This is a key strategic project for London which will enable the running of Crossrail test trains .
 
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
 
• To undertake the planning and programming as a key member of the project team,
responsible for all aspects of project planning, programming and progress monitoring,
including information flow, procurement, and site works,
• To include programme for designers, subcontractors, suppliers and incorporate
considerations for local authorities and other stakeholders on all matters relating to
planning and programming,
• Ensuring the production of fully integrated project programmes for the project in the
format required by the customer and project team that includes design, procurement,
consents, construction and commissioning.
• Ensuring the appraisal and co-ordination of all subcontractors' programmes and feedback to
them on changing main programme information.
• Gather information from the project team to update the programme to reflect the project
progress status.
• To prepare and present reports on programme and progress of all aspects of
projects, and to attend and contribute to site meetings and other associated meetings,
• Ensuring that project program is logical to accommodate the possession access changes.
• Review and change the programme calendars to accommodate the PPS tracker update from
the possession planning team.
• Contribute to progress control as a member of the project team.
• Assist in the management of change in regards of impact on programme and progress,
• To prepare comprehensive site layouts and prepare presentations as necessary
(PowerPoint, Visio).
• Implementation of Company procedures.
• Working collaboratively and openly with the project team in the production and reporting of
programme and maintaining a good working relationship with them.
 

Person Specification
 
Minimum Requirement
 
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 essential.
• Experience of programme submissions and updating to NEC requirements is desirable
• Ability to communicate the planning strategy for a complex project to the wider team
• Degree or HND in related Engineering discipline.
• CSCS/PTS card required.
• Preferably IOSH certificate.
• Preferred 5 years industry experience of general civil/ rail engineering industry experience
• Knowledge of Time Chainage diagrams desirable.
• Knowledge of PPS desirable.
• Experience in 4-D modelling preferable together with willingness to learn.
• Experience of working on rail projects desirable.
