How can you facilitate improvements to organisational and workplace policies and procedures to avoid the
incidents identified in Part A in the future? (50-100 words)
Answer:
Sometimes workplace accidents result from employees pushing themselves too hard. Maybe they want
to impress their co-workers with their strength. Perhaps they want to increase their output in hopes of a
raise. They may even have been injured before and begin working before they’ve fully recovered. While
you should encourage employees to be as productive and creative as possible. Implement control
measures, stay calm with customers, deal them actively, make sure to attend every customer timely and
provide their to them on time.
How can you create and maintain a positive work environment at your chosen organisation? (50 – 100
words)
Answer:
Prioritise on boarding and training. Help our employees find a comfortable work environment. Conduct
regular check-ins. Encourage team collaboration and communication. Develop a strong workplace
culture. Facilitate opportunities for learning. Be a strong leader. Motivate employees, mentor their
growth and guide them toward success. Don't throw people in at the deep end. Create a comfortable
work environment. Keep new employees in the loop.
How can you encourage your team and individuals to develop innovative approaches to work tasks?
Answer:
Encouraging workplace innovation not only helps companies stay on top of the market and defend their
bottom lines: innovative workplaces are also happier workplaces, with consistently higher levels of
employee satisfaction and retention. Companies that invest time, effort and money in finding new and
better ways of doing things have an advantage over others in the market. It’s that simple.
For example, look at McDonald’s ground breaking innovations in online purchase and delivery (and
pretty much everything else). These innovations have given the company a significant advantage over its
competitors, and are a major reason for the company’s ongoing dominance.
Empower our employees to think about tough problems:
People are as innovative as we allow them to be. If we empower our staff to chase their “aha
moments”, we’ll soon find ourselves with a more dynamic and innovative workplace.
Adopt a non-hierarchical management approach:
The most innovative companies have a flat - but strong - management approach, allowing
employees to break down silos and barriers between work areas. A lot of innovation comes from
cross-pollination between teams and divisions, and from the sharing of ideas and problems.
Give our staff a reason to care:
Look for ways to incentivize staff to think about innovation, and bring them along the journey by
developing a company-wide innovation strategy
Find and motivate entrepreneurs:
Finding and motivating entrepreneurs within our business is an excellent way to encourage a
more innovative approach to problem-solving.
Develop an innovation strategy - and use it:
Workplace innovation needs to be strategic and should be a core part of our company's DNA. A
good strategy helps to clarify what is expected of employees at every level of your company
when it comes to problem-solving. By developing an innovation strategy, leadership provides
employees with certainty about the core role of innovation and reinforces the idea that
innovation is everyone’s responsibility.
