Let us follow the example of Abraham. Let us listen to God when He calls us to
do something. Let us be obedient to God and say "YES" when He tells us to.
Now, let us know about the story of a Saint who is like Abraham.

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

Like Abraham, Francis did many difficult things because he loved God. He was born in Spain. When he met Ignatius of
Loyola, he was inspired to become a missionary like him. He was one of the seven priest of the order of the Society of
Jesus (The Jesuits) who were sent to missionary work. He preached for six months in Africa and continue his mission in
spreading the word of God in India and in Japan.

He always pray for the people who did not want to listen to the word of God. He was the patron of Borneo, the East Indies,
Japan, foreign missions and tourists. His feast day is every December 3.

In the celebration of the Holy mass, we listen to the Word of god. but we do not only listen with our ears, more
importantly, we listen with our hearts and minds so that we will understand God's message for us.

Listening to the stories of our loved ones tell us will help us understand the important lessons these stories teach.

We Celebrate God's Message

To listen to God means to open our hearts to him and follow what He tells us to do.

We sing the Alleluia verse before the proclamation of the Gospel to show that we are ready to listen to the word of God and
follow it.

You can see this lesson in your religion book on pages 88-89. Read and study the "We Celebrate God's Message".

How will you show that you listen to god in your everyday life? Here are some ways:

1. We are happy to help in the chores at home.

2. We are happy to share our food with a classmate who does not have something to eat.

3. We are happy to be in church early to be in time for the Holy mass.

4. We are happy to join in our school's community outreach activities.

5. We are happy to pray always.
