Introduction

God our Father shows His love for us through His Beloved Son,our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ Who died on the cross to save us from our state of sin -
fulness. We, in turn can show our love to God through the small sacrifices we
make everyday.

Opening Prayer, Greetings, Review of the previous lesson.

All of us have experienced being commanded by people around us be it at


home, in school ,etc. What do we do when we are commanded to do
something? Therefore what is a command? God gave us Ten Commandments
to guide us to live holy lives. At this point, we will just focus our lesson on the
First Commandment.For further discussions ,please open your book on pages
92-93.

The First Commandment of God states : “I Am the Lord, your God
You shall not have other gods besides Me.”

 The word gods with small letter g means false gods ( diyos-
diyusan ) examples: money, person whom we idolized, animal, etc.

We can obey the First Commandment by :


1. Loving God above all things.
2. Worshipping Him alone.
3. Putting God first in our life.
4. Trusting Him completely.

The Church teaches us that the First Commandment of God embraces the
three Theological Virtues of : FAITH , HOPE and LOVE.
Faith helps us to believe everything that Jesus teaches.
Hope helps us to believe that Jesus is always there to help us even if
we are experiencing hard time like this pandemic we are in right now.
Love helps us to love God above all things and our neighbor.

Father loves us as His Children . You, in turn will think of some ways on how
you can repay God’s love for you. For our further discussion please open your
book page 91.

What’s New
God is our Loving and a Caring Father. Hence, He knows everything
we need before we ever ask Him about them. We have to keep this in
mind: “That we love God not because He commands us so, but because
He LOVED US FIRST and HE CREATED US IN HIS OWN IMAGE AND

meaningfu lives.
