VI. Rationale
Press Conference is an event which can only be participated in by schools
with school paper. Since, Dumagmang Integrated School is a newly opened
integrated school that aims to develop pupil writers in all competitive events on
yearly Press Conference and who will share their knowledge in the school
publication in Dumagmang Integrated School, the undersigned is motivated to
conduct “Pupil/Student Writers Training on Campus Journalism.”
VII. Objectives
The objectives of the training are:
1. develop journalistic skills of school paper pupil/student writers.
2. discover potential campus journalists.
3. strengthen positive attitudes among the pupil/student writers.
VIII. Mechanics
This activity will be held for three days on April 5-7,2011 at Dumagmang
Integrated School, Dumagmang, Labo, Camarines Norte.

A registration fee of P 150.00 will be charged to the participants to cover

the following expenses:

1. Dumagmang Integrated School will conduct a Pupil / Student Writers Training

on Campus Journalism on April 5-7, 2011 at Dumagmang Integrated School.
2. This activity aims to:
a. develop journalistic skills of school paper pupil/student writers.
b. discover potential campus journalists.
c. strengthen positive attitudes among pupils / student writers
3. Participants to this activity are the selected pupils of grades 4, 5 & 6 and secondary
students with journalistic skills.
4. The participants will be trained on the following skills: photojournalism, news
writing, editorial writing / cartooning, feature writing, sports writing, news writing,
copy reading and headline writing.
5. The following teachers will be the resource speakers on their respective topics:
