EMPLOYMENT
Provide leadership for all academic advising, student success, and licensure components within the
College of Education, Health and Human Services and the Vacca Office of Student Services.
Oversee Ohio Department of Education licensure processing for 450+ candidates annually; liaison to
the Ohio Department of Education; address teacher licensure questions and issues that arise from
potential, current and former students as well as faculty and staff.
Implement strategic planning, for and assessment of academic advising for the Vacca Office of
Student Services.
Support and implement student success initiatives for the college, including probation outreach,
retention initiatives, and degree completion efforts.

Directed all the academic advising and educator licensure functions for the Vacca Office of Student
Services.
Led the advising team in implementing university and college retention and completion initiatives,
including: GPS (Graduation Planning System), Pathfinder, early alert, midterm outreach, probation
interventions, Formula to Finish, and My Time to Register.
Oversee training and professional development for 9 academic advisors, 3 Graduate Assistants, and 2
Senior Academic Program Specialists, including individualized professional development plans.
Support and implement student success initiatives for the college, including probation outreach,
retention initiatives, and degree completion efforts.
Engaged in developmental academic advising for a caseload of 500+ current students plus
prospective students in the College of Education, Health and Human Services through individual and
walk-in advising appointments; assisted students at all stages of their academic career with goal
setting, decision- making, long and short term academic planning, career and major exploration,
course selection, and graduation requirements.
Coordinated a comprehensive training program for 6 new advisors and 3 Graduate Assistants;
provided training for new advisors through information sessions, case studies, observation, and co-
advising; created and maintained advisor training manual.
Engaged in developmental academic advising for a caseload of 750+ current students plus
prospective students in the College of Education, Health and Human Services through individual and
walk-in advising appointments; assisted students at all stages of their academic career with goal
setting, decision- making, long and short term academic planning, career and major exploration,
course selection, and graduation requirements.
