I have loved fencing since I was six years old. I have already been a part-time fencing
athlete of the Hong Kong Fencing Cadet Team of Hong Kong Sport Institute (HKSI)
since Form 1. The professional sport training in HKSI is very hard but shapes my
personality to become determined and self-disciplined.  Thanks to my coach’s support
and guidance, it is an honour for me to win Grantham Hong Kong Student Athlete
Awards of The Hong Kong Schools Sport Federation in 2018.

I always want to share my passion for fencing and skills with others. I was delighted
when I was appointed to be a fencing coach assistant by my Fencing Club in 2020.
Being a coach assistant, I share my experience with the youth fencers and refine their
skills. In 2010, I completed the Sport Captain Programme launched by the Leisure
and Cultural Services Department. The programme provided all round training on
coaching skills, sports administration and programme planning to me which benefits
me in being a professional coach in the future.

I have a constant thirst for knowledge and have an eagerness to equip myself with
different skills.  During the period of class suspension because of COVID-19
pandemic, I completed a Basic Life Support Provider Course of American Heart
Association and I am now a qualified first-aider and I am AED certified.  Recruited
by the Auxiliary Medical Service (AMS), I am now taking a basic training
programme which provides official disciplined force training and professional
medical training.  Despite the long training hours, I have gained rewarding experience
and I am proud of being an AMS member as I can serve the community.

I am interested in teaching, so I have taken an Applied Learning Course on Child Care

and Education provided by the Vocational Training Council. I acquire basic
knowledge of child care and education. The module about lesson planning inspires me
a lot as I learn to organize diversified learning and teaching activities to engage
children in learning. I even tried to apply those skills when coaching little kids in
learning fencing.

God wants us to be “good and faithful servants” with our talents. As a Christian, I
hope to use my God-given talent in education. The Bible teaches us that “training up a
child in the way he should go”; hence, I aspire to be a kindergarten teacher in the
future. I sincerely hope that I will be accepted by your institute that grants me an
opportunity to pursue my career as a teacher specializing in Early Childhood
Education.
