CALITUBAN HIGH SCHOOL

CONTINGENCY PLAN – COVID19 PANDEMIC

BACKGROUND

Calituban is one of eight island barangays of the Municipality of Talibon in the province
of Bohol. It has an area of 0.15 km 2 and is one of the globe’s top 1000 densely populated island
with an approximately more than 4,700 population and more than 800 households at the second
quarter of the year 2020. For the past decade it only recorded a population of 4,064. This
indicates a growing population of the island. In fact, people are converting its shorelines as an
alternative residential area. It is surrounded by the double-barrier reef on its north and the
landmass of Bohol island on its southwest. The island can be located at coordinates 10˚10’48”N
123˚52’56”E and can be reached in an average of an hour (1hr) travel from the municipal port
via pumpboat/motor banca.
