B. Motivation:
Ask & Say: Look at the night sky. What do you see? When we look at the night sky,
many of us are amazed at the beauty of the tiny lights we see hanging in the dark. If
the sky is clear, you will see hundreds of stars. Almost all of the stars you can see are
part of the large system of stars called the Milky Way galaxy.

Asks: What is a star? How do stars being measured? How many kilometers
equivalent to a light-year? What do you call the star that closest to Earth? What are
the different colors of the stars? Are the colors relevant to the temperature of the
stars?

- Let the pupils study and analyze the Table 1 on page 5.
F. Application/ Generalization:
Stars may be blue, white, yellow, orange, or red. Stars differ in color because of
their different temperatures. Like the flame, stars with high temperatures are blue or
bluish-white. On the other hand, Red stars have lower temperatures. Yellow and
orange stars have medium temperatures.
G. Evaluation:
