ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

NAME OF ACTIVITY: One-Day Orientation for the Learning Facilitators in the New
Normal Education Implementing Blended Learning Approach
TYPE OF ACTIVITY: School-Based Orientation
ACTIVITY PROPONENT:DepEd-ESPERANZA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
PARTICIPANTS: Grade 7 Parents
VENUE: Conference Room
DATE ACCOMPLISHED: February 24, 2022
NAME OF SCHOOL HEAD: TEOTIMA B. GOLO

II. OBJECTIVE:
a. Orient the Grade 7 parents on the different learning modalities (Blended
Learning Approach)

b. Remind their roles and responsibilities as a learning facilitator

III. NARRATIVE REPORT:

This pandemic has brought a change to the system of education. It makes the
curriculum shift to more flexible and simple and especially advantageous to our learners.
This change includes the adaptation of the different learning modalities to still continue the
delivery of education amidst pandemic. Parents are considered as the learning facilitators
and the partners of the teachers. With it, the school conducted an orientation for them to
become aware on the different learning modalities that we could possibly adapt.
The registration started at 1:00 in the afternoon. The parents and the Grade 7 class
adviser conducted the orientation in the conference room. The class advisers had the
opening program, stated the purpose of the activity and oriented the parents on the
different learning modality (Blended Learning Approach) and about the Self-Learning
Modules. The parents were told that blended learning approach is a combination of
distance learning modality and limited face-to-face classes. They were discussed that the
school can only cater limited face-to-face classes, thus, there are class schedule that we
have to follow. Since the school chose to cater the Grade 7 learners first, per class are
divided into two groups. The 1st group in each class will have the limited face-to-face for
Week 1 while the 2 nd group per class will do distance modular learning. And for the 2 nd
week, they will exchange. Grade 8-12 parents were clearly told that we cannot cater all the
grade levels but we asked them to attend this orientation as preparation also for the next
school year.

Parents are hoping that the school can expand and open the other grade levels next
school year because they cannot fully help their children in explaining the lessons. Teachers
also are hopeful that our school can slowly back on track so that we could meet our
learners personally.

The activity ended at 3:17 in the afternoon.

II. OBJECTIVE:
To mentor, coach and train teachers in facilitating blended learning
approach.

III. NARRATIVE REPORT:

The Department of Education is given a challenge on how to continue the education
during this pandemic period. The department adapted the different learning modalities to
still cater our learners.
The school head, Mrs. Teotima Golo called a meeting to mentor, coach and train
teachers on how to facilitate blended learning approach. The meeting started with a prayer
led by Mrs. Christy Salar and singing of the Nationalistic Song by Ms. Ruth Mae Gapio.
The school head, Mrs. Teotima Golo oriented the teachers that blended learning
approach is combination of the different learning modalities including limited face-to-face
classes. She added that our school will implement the two modalities: distance modular
learning and limited face-to-face classes. She explained that the two modalities will be
observed by all grade 7 learners with different schedule. Since Grade 7-Daisy is divided into
2 groups, one group will have limited face-to-face while other group will have the modular
learning, which is same case to Grade 7-Rose.
Mrs. Golo reminded the teachers that it is necessary to conduct consultations with
parents for them to become updated on the academic status of their children. We can use
various platform such as text messaging, chat thru messenger or sending a letter. Keeping
communication with them is beneficial to both teachers and learners. She added that
teachers should provide feedback and prepare appropriate instructional materials for the
learners. Lastly, she reminded the teachers to prepare the budget of lesson and Weekly
Home Learning Plan with listed activities/learners’ task on it. She added that these two
plans are necessary so that teachers and learners will be guided as to when and what are
the require activities or tasks to do or accomplished in that specific week.
