The above turbocharger inspected, and the following found:

Complaint of the turbocharger on arrival

• Check and report.

Probable cause of turbocharger failure:

• Failure due to foreign object passing through air intake side of turbocharger, indicated by the
damage on the compressor wheel
• Shaft discoloured due to lack of lubrication.

The attached images serve as reference.

• Compressor Wheel damaged due to

foreign object damage entering from
air intake side of turbocharger.

Please note that all warranty claims that have been declined or quote for repairs are to be collected from Precision Power Components by the client
within 21 days from date of report. Should the goods not be collected within this time period Precision Power Components will automatically dispose of
the goods as we see fit. If the goods are going to be collected after 21 days it is the responsibility of the client to advise the Precision Power
Components’ Technical Department of an alternative collection date.
If the warranty claim is accepted, Precision Power Components will insure that the goods are replaced A.S.A.P.

 • Turbine wheel rubbed due to rotor
assembly failure.
• Shaft discoloured due to lack of
lubrication.

• Journal bearing discoloured due to

excessive heat within the housing.

• Thrust bearing damaged due to rotor

assembly failure.
