I. INTRODUCTION
Philippines in one of the countries that reported drug related crimes. According to
alcoholrehab.com, it seem that illegal drug use is on the rise, and this has worrying implications for
the future. There is an urgent need to educate young people as to the dangers of drug use, and there
is also a great need to help those who are already addicted to escape their misery. Failure to do this
could mean there will be further deterioration within many Filipino communities.

To address to this problem on drugs, the Department of Education is giving all learning
opportunities for Filipino youth to develop themselves and to drive them away from drug abuse
through the following: Curriculum instruction, Co-curricular activities and ancillary services,
Parent education and community outreach, Teacher staff development and Research which are all
embedded on the NDEP program and set of activities. This annual NDEP accomplishment report
will show the programs and activities made by the school to help learners achieve a brighter future
driving them away to drugs while driving them closer to God, health and wellness and holistic
development.

II. OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of this report include the following:

1. Identify problems and give solutions to the different problems on drug abuse among
adolescents;
2. Observe the effects of the different solutions and programs offered by the school to address the
problem in drug abuse; and
3. Strengthen the implementation of NDEP to the school.

III. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

A. CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION


Instructional Strategies in Drug Education
 Integration in Social Studies, Science and Technology, Communication Arts and MAPEH
B. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND ANCILLARY SERVICES
Alternatives to drug abuse are so defined to include constructive and valuable experiences,
opportunities, pursuits and programs which can prevent and diminish drug abuse by providing
greater satisfaction and fulfillment than drugs. The following Co-curricular activities and
ancillary services conducted at school are as follows:

 It unites all efforts of community including the LGU of Arakan and Provincial Office in
preventing and controlling drug abuse.
 PTA (Parent Teacher’s Organization) is active in conducting general assembly for updates to
students ;for addressing issues and concern; and giving advocacies on drugs.

D. TEACHER-STAFF DEVELOPMENT
 Training and seminar(GAD)
 Internet connections are available for additional aids for better classroom instruction.

E. RESEARCH, EVALUATION AND MONITORING


 Conducting of School Based Action research to address and give solutions to students needs
and weaknesses.
 Assessment of the different components of the program.
 Submission of reports for assessment purpose

IV. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED


Throughout the school year, the school encountered the following problems:
1. Lack of financial budget. Thus providing students with limited sport equipment and learning
aids helpful to divert their attention and interest in education and sports rather than in drugs.
2. Personal reasons such as poverty, family problems, early marriage, peer influence and others
makes it harder for students to come in school which results to tardiness, absenteeism or drop
outs. Some students may not avail learning opportunities and experiences. They may be
influenced outside the school.

V. RECOMMENDATIONS
Recommendations for the problems encountered are as follows:
1. Seek for financial assistance from the LGU of Arakan and other private group if possible.
2. Strengthen the school activities to develop the interest of students to go to school.
3. Strengthen parents/stakeholders education and community outreach.
