World Mental Health is about more than advocacy. It also

RATIONALE provides an opportunity to empower people to look after their own
mental health and provide support to others. The WHO Mental Health
Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) has been developed with the aims
of training and capacity building in order to deliver services for people
with mental, neurological and substance use disorders for countries
especially with low and middle income. According to the WHO
“Mental, neurological and substance use disorders are common in all
regions of the world, affecting every community and age groups
across all income countries. While 14% of the global burden of
disease is attributed to these disorders, most of the people affected -
75% in many low-income countries- do not have access to the
treatment they need
To be able to intensively implement these mandates, Tagas
Elementary School initiates to conduct this PROJECT TEAM HA: A
TEACHER’S EMPOWERMENT FOR MENTAL AWARENESS
AND GAD ACTION PROGRAMME, which will be of great help to
teachers of Tagas ES.
It is expected that teachers and GAD coordinator will be
introduced how to integrate GAD concepts in the mental health of
individual, and revisit the policies to make it gender-fair and responsive,
especially during this time of disruptive environment where modules
and other printed materials are widely used considering that the school
is implementing Flexible Learning and Distance Education.

Finally, this enforces gender equality and addresses concerns

about providing quality education, the two (2) targets to address the
global challenge for government, stipulated in the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDG) 2030 Agenda.
The activity aims to:

1. Describe a supportive conversation including:

a. Things to try and things to avoid and
b. recalling features for having supportive conversations
2. Identify places they could signpost a colleague to in a non-
Expected Output emergency
3. Increased access of campaigns to mental health in integrated primary
care model
4. Improved mental health care of teachers of Tagas Elementary School
in mental health

After this 3-day activity,

1. identify signs of stress

2. use the Stress Cycle to manage stress
3. explain and complete a Wellbeing Plan
Objectives
4. training of all faculty and staff in project TEAM HA
implementation guide tool.
5. the implementation of an mhGAP based integrated mental health
primary care service in school.
