1. Where did the musical artist originate?


Memphis, Tennessee, U.S, Elvis Aaron Presley was
born in Tupelo, Mississippi, and relocated to
Memphis, Tennessee, with his family when he was
13 years old.
2. In which country/countries did the
artist become famous?
His popularity soared in 1956, when his song
"Heartbreak Hotel" became the singer's first number
one hit. Presley performed the song during most of
his live shows between 1956 and 1977, and for the
last time on May 29, 1977, at the Civic Center in
Baltimore, Maryland. The song has been released on
almost every Presley compilation album since 1956,
and alternative takes have surfaced on several
compilation albums. Elvis gained national attention
when sixty million people tuned in to watch him
perform on The Ed Sullivan Show (1956) in New
York City. Because Elvis' dancing was deemed too
provocative, only his waist up was shown
3. How did the artist become famous?
Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in
a two-room home in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Vernon
and Gladys Presley. Elvis was raised as an only kid
when his twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn.
Elvis and his parents relocated to Memphis,
Tennessee, in 1948, and he graduated from Humes
High School there in 1953.
Elvis was influenced by pop and country music of
the day, gospel music he heard in church and at all-
night gospel shows he frequented, and black R&B
he absorbed as a Memphis adolescent on famous
Beale Street.
Elvis Presley started his singing career in 1954 with
the famed Sun Records company in Memphis. RCA
Victor bought his recording contract in late 1955. He
had become an international superstar by 1956. He
ushered in a completely new era of American music
and popular culture with a sound and style that
uniquely merged his numerous musical inspirations
and blurred and questioned the social and racial
barriers of the period.

successful films, made television appearances and
specials history, and received widespread praise for
his numerous, often record-breaking, live concert
performances on tour and in Las Vegas. He has sold
more albums than any other musician in history. His
sales in the United States have earned him gold,
platinum, and multi-platinum status. Among his
numerous accomplishments were 14 Grammy
nominations (3 wins) from the National Academy of
Recording Arts & Sciences, the Grammy Lifetime
Achievement Award, which he won at the age of 36,
and selection as one of the United States Jaycees'
Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970.
Elvis served his nation in the United States Army
without any of the unique benefits that his famous
status may have offered him.

His brilliance, beautiful looks, sensuality, charisma,


and sense of humor attracted him to millions, as did
his humility and human decency throughout his life.
He is recognized as one of the most prominent
characters of twentieth-century popular culture and
is known around the world by his first name. Elvis
Presley died on August 16, 1977, at Graceland in
Memphis. He was 42 when he died.

Elvis Presley, a musician and actor, rocketed to
prominence in the mid-1950s on the radio,
television, and the silver screen, and is one of the
most famous names in rock 'n' roll history.
It is when Presley was on a roll in 1956, collecting
his first No. 1 single with "Heartbreak Hotel," as
well as his first No. 1 album, Elvis Presley, and
landing a movie contract with Paramount Pictures.
Despite the outcry produced by his sensual dancing
skills, he became a famous guest on a number of
television variety shows.
Because of Presley's incredible career, It helped
promote rock 'n' roll music in America. He also
received three Grammy Awards for gospel
recordings. Presley was a huge musical force, with
18 No. 1 singles, including "Don't Be Cruel," "Good
Luck Charm," and "Suspicious Minds," and several
gold and platinum albums. He was among the first
musicians to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall
of Fame (1986). Presley, on the other hand, has been
recognized for his contributions to a variety of
musical genres, most notably rock, country, and
gospel. Presley was inducted into the Country Music
Hall of Fame posthumously in 1998, and the Gospel
Music Association's Gospel Music Hall of Fame
three years later.
