NARRATIVE REPORT

RATIONALE/PURPOSE OF THE ACTIVITY


The school is always committed to provide quality service to its clientele and
aims to make a difference to the community where it serves. For Catumbalon National
High School, achieving this goal can be possible if the Learning-Teaching Process is
suitable to the learners. Teachers must have to evaluate whether their Teaching styles
are anchored on the 21st Century skills of our learners. In so doing, the different
problems in the delivery of quality instruction will be addressed and teachers will be
given a chance to further improve the classroom instruction to address the needs of the
diverse learners. Thus, Catumbalon National High School held its 2nd SLAC session on
the topic: The Teaching Styles of the 21st Century Teachers last August 23, 2019
(Friday), 1:00 PM- 4:15 PM at the classroom of Grade 9 Kindness.

OBJECTIVES

a) Identify Teaching Styles of Teachers


b) Evaluate the Teaching Styles if Anchored to 21st Century Skills of Teachers
c) Reflect on the Importance of Teaching Styles on the Integration of 21st Century
Skills of Learners

Topic: The Teaching Styles of 21st Century Teachers


Resource Speaker: Sir Hero Jun B. Valendez
Since the speaker has previously talked about the different teaching styles of the
21st Century Teachers, he just made a review on the topic. Then he proceeded on
explaining how to answer the Strafford Tool for Identifying Teaching Styles of Teachers.
He gave each teacher a copy and told them to answer as honestly as they can while he
reads and explain each of the questions found in the tool. After a while, he told them to
tally their scores below each column and match the average score to the Six Types of
Teachers found at the front page of the tool. He found out that majority of the Teachers
are already practicing the 21st Century Skills while some are on their way to progress. He
called two teacher representatives to talk about the reasons and their experience in
their journey through the promotion of the 21st Century Skills.
