Hi everyone, my name is Nicholas from class 10A, in this video I want to talk to about Sports and

health. The reason I chose this topic because we do know that the covid 19 is still happening in our
country and I wanted to show how sports and health really matter in our life nowadays. The aim of
this video is to raise awareness on the importance of sports and exercise and how much sports can
impact health, especially during this pandemic where everyone needs to be fit and healthy to fight
the virus. However, my expectations to this are that there should be an increased amount of people
doing exercise and sports and therefore an increased overall health among people. This is in cause,
to the increased awareness about the benefits of sports relating to health. Finally, more people
should be doing sports due to the pandemic, as health is a priority concern for everyone in these
trying times.

Without further ado, let’s start. What is sports ? Sports is an activity involving physical exertion
involving skill by a particular individual or a team. Sports is an integral part of health and it provide
numerous health benefits such as improved health function, reduce risk of diabetes, lowers stress
levels, mental health and many more.

Sports is viewed generally as a positive thing in almost all cultures, however my team’s research has
shown that less people are involved with sports and ignoring the importance of exercise, as well as
forgetting how much sports is related to one’s health and fitness. Therefore, our team has concluded
that raising awareness is necessary.

One such example is the rise of technology related to computers. As the name suggests, technology
has increased time by time and therefore online games have been created. This will then give a
result of the individual doing less exercise. The online games make people especially teenagers stay
indoors more often and therefore the willingness and awareness to involve themselves in sports
decreases.

To support the benefits of sports, research shows that individuals that involve themselves in sports
are happier and more fulfilled, as well as being more healthy and fit. You can observe that after
intense exercise, you will feel a sense of happiness.

There is no best sport, however the most effective and popular sport is basketball. Basketball
provides a slue of health benefits and because it is popular you will have no trouble in finding places
to play. Examples of health benefits include increase in concentration, having stronger muscles,
increase in endurance and improved balance and coordination.

However, me myself as a teenager sometimes feel that technology has made me a person that rarely
do sports on the pandemic. I once became a basketball player representing my team, Jubilee
Phoenix and to be honest It was really fun. Although I must suffer going to practice 2-3 times a week,
but it give me a lot of health benefits. The first benefit that I experienced is that I became more fitter
and healthier. In addition, I lost some weight and became thinner. Because of this, I can do sports
more flexible and intense. But then, times has past, and I started to get lazy on doing sports due to
the online games that my friends play. Because of this, my stamina became so weak, and I can’t do a
30-minute jog. This makes me sad, realizing that I was really fit before and now I become less fit.
After the self-reflection that I do, I wanted to start doing sports again so that my health and stamina
can go back like it usually be when I was doing sports.
