CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE ENGLISH CLUB

PREAMBLE

We, the members of the English Club of Sta. Ines Elementary School, believing that
excellence, cooperation, and mutual understanding can be established and attained by uniting
ourselves into one body; that we can help another and can promote our common welfare; that
we can exemplify proper conduct and true academy pupils; that we can contribute our
optimism, share in achieving the objectives for which the organization stands and which to be
fully achieved with the establishment of a lawful basis, do hereby ordain and promulgate this
constitution.

ARTICLE I. NAME

Section 1. The name of the organization shall be the Sta. Ines Elementary School

English Club.

ARTICLE II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Section 1. The organization will be composed of pupils of Sta. Ines Elementary School, who
are interested in using the English language as a medium of communication within the school
campus.

Section 2. The activities of the organization will be focused on the development of the pupils’
ability to read and communicate fluently and proficiently by means of the English language in
order to attain communicative competence.

Section 3. The organization shall aim to develop public speakers and stage performers by
means of holding a Literary Contest and celebrating the National Reading Month.

ARTICLE III. DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES

Section 1. The organization shall strive to foster among the members and other concerned
pupils to love and appreciate the English language.

ARTICLE IV. ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS

Section 1. Activities undertaken will be done to promote budding speakers, writers, and stage
performers among the pupils through language-related activities such as the Literary Contest.

Section 2. Pupils shall be encouraged to appreciate the value of the English language through
activities that foster pupils’ interest in participating academic pursuits and school projects.

ARTICLE V. MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Members of the organization shall include all qualified pupils of Sta. Ines
Elementary School who are interested to join the club from Grade 4 to Grade 6.
ARTICLE VI. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Section 1. Members must act in a virtuous way, manifesting the moral and ethical ideals of the
organization and the school as well.

Section 2. Each member has to participate actively in meetings and activities undertaken by
the organization.

ARTICLE VII. THE OFFICERS ANS THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE

Section 1. The list of officers of the organization includes President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, P.I.O. and Representatives from Grades Four to Six.

Section 2. An officer shall hold office for one academic year from the fate of his selection or
shall hold office until his respective successor has been duly elected and qualified.

ARTICLE VIII. ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Section 1. Election of officer of the organization shall be held on the sixth week of the school
year.

Section 2. Elections shall be done via online due to pandemic.

ARTICLE IX. DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 1. The President shall be the chief executive of the organization.

Section 2. The Vice President shall assist the President in the latter’s absence and shall assume
the powers vested in the president.

Section 3. The Secretary shall be the custodian of all the association. He shall record the
minutes of all the meetings of the club.

Section 4. The Treasurer shall have the following duties:

Sub-Section 1. To have an annual accounting of the expenses (if there’s any) incurred
by the organization and to render a complete report of the organization during a
meeting.

Sub-Section 2. To serve as a custodian of the money and property of the organization.

Section 5. The P.I.O. prepares and releases appropriate information concerning the
organization and its activities and shall maintain contacts among members.

Section 6. The Representatives from Grades 4-6 shall relay the matters taken up during
meetings to their respective classes and to their homeroom officers.

ARTICLE X. AMMENDMENTS

Section 1. This Constitution and by-laws may be amended by 2/3 votes of those present for
that purpose.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
The English Club was formally reorganized during this month via Google Meet. The
following were elected club officers:

With full force, the officers of the English Club led the school’s reading month
celebration. The officers together with their adviser Mrs. Zoraida SA. Angeles, planned on the
different activities that the club will undertake during the celebration.

In line with the DepEd order also, the English Club officers and members celebrated
the National Reading Month on November.
It was a very busy month for they were the club in charge for the school’s reading month
celebration. The following were the contested activities via online:

 Nursery Rhyme (Preparatory)


 Story Reading (Grade 1-2)
 Poem Interpretation (Grades 3-4)
 Declamation (Grades 4-6)

The English Club continued some informal meetings to pick bottles and other trashes
around the school grounds as part of their environmental project. They also continued their
English sessions while attending the limited face to face classes.

The members continued their environmental efforts and their spiritual enrichment. The
English Club had bonding sessions on June, 2022 to further tie the camaraderie built among
them. English sessions were still done.

MINUTES OF THE FIRST MEETING OF THE ENGLISH CLUB SY 2021-2022


HELD VIA GOOGLE MEET (October 18, 2022)
I.REGISTRATION OF MEMBERS
At 9:00 in the morning, the English Club started for the registration of
members.

II.CALL TO ORDER
At exactly 9:30 in the morning, thereby having a quorum, Mrs. Zoraida S.
Angeles called to order the members of the English Club for SY 2021-2022.

III.AGENDA
Mrs. Zoraida S. Angeles presented the following agenda for the day:
• Discussion of the Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Club
• Election of Officers
• Discussion of the Club Constitution and By-Laws
• Planning of Proposed Club Activities

I.BUSINESS OF THE DAY

A. Discussion of the Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Club


Mrs. Angeles introduced the aspiring members to the English Club. He also
discussed the vision, mission, and objectives of the English Club to give knowledge to
what the club is all about.

B. Election of Officers
Mrs. Angeles took over as temporary presiding officer as the members of the
club elect the president.

The newly elected officers were given time for a simple speech to thank their
fellow English Club members.

C. Discussion of the Club Constitution and By-Laws


To orient the members, especially the newly elected officers, Mrs. Angeles also
discussed to the body the constitution and by-laws of the club to which the members
pledge full allegiance.

D. Planning of Proposed Club Activities


The new president, Sherian P. Joson, started to tackle the different expected
activities that the club will undertake throughout the school year. She stressed the need
to plan for the Literary Contest for the upcoming National Reading Month Celebration
and other activities that the club wants to undertake. The body then agreed to talk
more on this on the following meetings.

I.ADJOURNMENT
Having elected officers, discussed the constitution and by-laws, and planned
the proposed activities, Gabriel Jacob Dagandan, a member, moved for the
adjournment of the meeting and was seconded by the body.
The meeting was adjourned at exactly 11:00 in the morning.
