A NARRATIVE REPORT ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT MANDATES

On Tuesday, May 12, 2022, at 8:00 a.m., the Gender and Development Seminar was held
at PAGASA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. 10 teachers, 1 Principal and 39 officers of Parents and
Teachers Association of Pagasa Elementary School actively participated in the seminar.

The seminar began with an opening prayer conducted by Mrs. Ellien A. Abapo, 5th grade
teacher, followed by the singing of our national anthem, conducted by Mrs.Kathleen Lei A. Salang,
Kindergarten Teacher I. To verify attendance, Ms. Angela C. Acson conducted the roll call. Our
Principal, Mrs. Maricel A. Bansil, greeted all participants with her inspiring message. Immediately
after the brief opening program, Mrs. Jenny Ross C. Domingo showed the flow of activities.
Mr. Adrián del Coro, the first speaker, generously fed our thoughts with DepEd's Gender-
sensitive Basic Education Policy. In addition, Ms. Jenny Ross C. Domingo provided an eye-opening
perspective on RA 9262, Addressing Violence Against Women and Children. In addition, the final
speaker, Ms. Kathleen A. Salang, discussed the Child Protection Policy. In the last part of the
seminar, an open forum was held, where the participants actively exchanged their thoughts and
experiences.
The seminar was successfully completed. The participants went home with the insights
gained from the intellectual experience of the speakers.
