ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
I. Course/Program Title: Capacity Building on Designing School Learning Action Cell & Training
Design and Session Guide Writing for CPD Accreditation

As the world is in chatter over Corona Virus, the Department of Education is also clamoring for
learning support through technical assistance to continuously sustain the development needs of its learners.
This will happen through active involvement of teachers in terms of professional development, and this
includes conducting efficient School Learning Action Cells (SLACs) in their designated area of assignments
and/or subject departments. However, based on observed practices in the field as intensified during the
Regional Monitoring Evaluation and Adjustments (RMEA), SLAC sessions lack training designs that address
the professional development and learning needs of teachers and have limited competence in designing and
writing session guides for SLAC. Therefore, there is a need to conduct a capacity building on developing
and designing quality assured SLAC Sessions to augment the learning outcomes in the schools and in the
learning centers.
The capability building was done on May 04-05, 2021 at Senior High School Building at the Grade-
11 Newton under the advisory of Mrs. Erwinda A. Julow and with the supervision of the Program
Management Team headed by the LAC Leader, Mr. Celso S. Dapat Jr. and the Proponent-Speaker and
Facilitator herself Ms. Sharmine G. Cabusas. It was a success for at the end of the two-day session, the
participants were able to get oriented on Learning and Delivery System, developed quality assured training
design and session guide for SLAC Session, and even presented a self-developed School Learning Action
Cell. The first day was started with the recognition of participants which are the teachers of Pulanglupa
National High School duly known by Mrs. Arcile A. Torralba, Learning and Development Coordinator. The
followed by the opening message of the District In-charge of Trento III, Mr. Dindo M. Correos. The first day
session proper was then began by an overview on what is Learning and Development System given by the
School Head, Mr. Celso S. Dapat Jr. During his lecture he explained the rationale for the development of
Learning and Delivery System and Program Delivery. He further presented and discussed elements and
features of the L & D System of DepEd as the participants has able to demonstrate understanding of the
framework of the L & D system. Review on DepEd Order 35, s. 2016 and overview on what is LAC Session
was then presented by Mrs. Junapril G. Luig. Participants was then able to gain understanding on the
principles and standards of training design as Mrs. Gloria E. Bante continued the session in the afternoon
after the MOL or Management of Learning team started the afternoon session. The day 01 ended with
outputs on Training Design. The second day was started by an energizer and review of the take away for
the first day. Then began by the discussion on Principles and Characteristics of Session Guide given by Ms.
Sharmine G. Cabusas. Writeshop on SLAC Session Guide was the final activity. Each team of 3 was able to
present their outputs with different programs.
The two-day session was ended with a packed learning on the preliminaries before conducting a
SLAC. As what one of the teachers have said during his giving of impression, “it’s always good to be
equipped with knowledge on the drafting before the conduct of the program to the entire group.”
