NARRATIVE REPORT ON HOME VISITATION

Upper New Visayas, Trento, Agusan del Sur
March 10, 2021

In the midst of COVID-19 pandemic and the underlying crisis the world is facing today,
Pulanglupa National High School continue in aiming a strengthened educational guidance for the learners
through attainable interventions for achievable outcomes that leads to a higher level of a sustained
performance in a non-face-to-face mode of delivery. One intervention that we come up as a group is the
Home Visitation, following still the minimum health standards and protocol to ensure the safety of the
people involved –teachers, parents, security team, and the learners in all respective areas.

March 10, 2021, at 7:30 in the morning, the group met at school for some final briefing and
preparation. After such, we arrived at New Visayas Barangay Hall for attendance and some instruction
upon going to Upper new Visayas also known as “Three-Three”. We went through a lot of difficulty
before arriving at our destination; bumpy road and weather condition are the factors. But as we arrived
at the place after almost 2 hours, the exhaustion went off seeing the faces of our learners in eagerness
to see us either. Our troubled body was quickly replaced by excitement then. We then gathered our
students according to their grade level. We then started our introduction, especially for some first-year
students who were not yet acquainted by the teachers in school. After the short meet and greet session,
then followed by checking out how they were with their SLMs or Self Learning Modules. Others were
quite hesitant to share their sentiments but we see behind their hesitance are the faces of difficulty, they
clamor on the need of exact guidance and discipline. We then started to group them according to their
concerned teachers. After a while, we, as the Reading Team both in English and Filipino proceeded on
the reading remediation through our school-based GRASP Project. We have able to individually assess our
learners in terms of word recognition and comprehension.
 Finally, we went home realizing that we successfully served our purpose, not just by checking out
the learning progress of our dear students but also, we able to check out their situation in that far flung
place. With this, our excitement on the face to face classroom instruction doubled as we now see the
different needs of them as we catch a glimpse of their actual and real score, in a real-life setting.
