NARRATIVE REPORT ON VIRTUAL PARENT’S ORIENTATION FOR S.Y. 2021-2022

Despite the threat of continued growth of CoViD-19 cases in the Philippines, teachers and students still
welcomed the start of the 2021-2022 school year. For the students as well as their parents and guardians to be
aware in the activities planned for this academic year, a school orientation was held through online platform
Google Meet.
The online meeting began through the singing of the national anthem followed by an opening prayer. To
figure out if the attendees were complete, attendance was made by a roll call. The orientation was then initiated
with a short welcome message by the Class Adviser. The Class Adviser was overjoyed that despite of the
challenges the school had faced over the past year it all became successful and started again. The school hopes
that its students and their parents and guardians will work together to get through the new school year smoothly.
The Class Adviser also thanked the colleagues and school partnerships in advance for their tirelessly support in
providing the needs of the school, giving help, guiding the students and devoting their time at all times.
For the school to give in the attendees the clear outline of what will happen in the meeting, the agenda
was mentioned. First was stating the vision, mission and core values of the DepEd School. It was clearly stated
that the major role of the school is to provide quality basic education that is equitably accessible to all and lay
the foundation for life-long learning and service for the common good of its students. By providing the learning
resources that the students will use and guidance for the parents and guardians in using, the education will
successfully flow smoothly.
It was then followed by stating the DepEd Order No. 18 s. 2020 regarding about the policy guidelines
for the provision of learning resources in the implementation of the basic education learning continuity plan. It
was clearly stated that the school will set forth a flexible learning options which includes alternative delivery
modes and its learning resources that are responsive to the need, context, circumstances, and diversity of
learners. Students and the parents/guardians are free to choose any of the following modalities prepared or
available at the school in which the student can continue his/her education in their homes with due care of the
continued growth of the increasing cases of CoViD-19 in our country. Also, according to the guidelines, the
conduct of face-to-face classes, whether in partial or full-scale, will still not be allowed unless permitted by the
President.
The DepEd Order No. 29 s. 2021 stating about the school calendar of activities for school year 2021-
2022 was also discussed in the meeting. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte upon the recommendation of the DepEd

and shall end on June 24, 2022. This school year shall be a total of 209 days inclusive of Saturdays and the five-

parents or guardians at the designated place for distribution and retrieval in the school at scheduled time and
day. Incase that the parent/guardian does not arrive on the right day and time, he/she should give a message to
the teacher to be given new schedule because the teachers are also not always available in school. The module
distribution and retrieval will take place once a week, may be changed in case there is new schedule announce
due to pandemic but this has already been notified to the parents/guardians via text, call or online platform
Facebook and Messenger. The parents/guardians can be included in group chats or page for them to be aware
with the announcements from the school.
The class adviser added the school safety precautions such as the proper hand washing or sanitizing
before entering, accomplishing the contact tracing form, wearing face mask and face shield while inside the
school, carrying one’s own ballpen, falling in line, and avoiding close contact with teachers or both
parents/guardians to prevent the spread of the virus. The class adviser gives them time to ask queries in
