Topic : Asking and giving opinion
Time allocation : 20 minutes

A. Learning objectives

In the learning process, students are able to:


1. Identify the correct structure text in the expressions of asking and giving for opinion. (KD
3.2)
2. Make a dialogue of a given situation with expression of asking and giving for opinion. (KD
4.2)
3. Perform the expression of the dialogue given. (KD 3.2 & 4.2)

(Write 1-2 Learning Objectives using the A B C principles: Audience, Behavior, Content. Also
write the number of KD from which they are taken.)

Example:

Students are able to use the simple past tense to tell about past experiences. (KD 3.10 & 4.10)

B. Learning activities & media

 Asking some questions which have relation with the
lesson.

3. Motivation
 Give an idea about the benefits to learn the topic.

 If the material/theme/project is mastered well, therefore,


the students are expected to be able to use expressions of
asking and giving opinion.

“In this chapter I'll tell you about asking and giving opinion. But
before we swim deep for today’s material, Let us see this picture
first”

“We must know what is opinion first. Opinion is phrase or sentence


that consists of argument, reason or opinion from someone.”

“If we see again to the picture, we can see an expression of asking


and giving an opinion.”

“Can you show me where is the asking opinion?” (Pick one student)

(Pick one student) “Can you help to find where’s the sentence that
show giving an opinion?”

“Asking opinion is a sentence which asking opinion or argument to


other people to satisfaction. Giving opinion is sentence that gives a
reason to someone or other people.”

2. Questioning
o By the teacher’s guide, students ask about meaning of
the new words and linguistics elements which is used
for asking and giving opinion.
o Teacher explains the material.

“So, asking and giving opinion is expressions that is used for


talking about argument or opinion of two or more people.”

“There are expression of asking opinion in two situation :


Formal and Informal.”

3. Exploring

• Teacher gives students a case

• Teacher invites some students to look for the expressions of


asking and giving opinion in the cases.

“Choose one of the picture and give your opinion about the
picture below.”

that contains expression of asking and giving for opinion.

5. Communicating

• Students perform with their own partner by choosing of the


topic conversations.

approach reenacts the conversation with your classmates. You may
choose one of the topics and perform it!
