INSULATOR WASHER RECOMMENDED PERIOD MAINTENANCE

Weekly
Engine
1 Check water level in radiator and top up as required

2 In Cold climates/high altitude - check antifreeze

3 Check all battery connections

4 Check oil level in sump and top up as necessary

5 Check linkage to throttle to ensure free and well greased

6 Inspect Intake Piping

7 Check vee belts

8 Check fuel-water separator

Water Pump

Check seals at each end of the impeller shaft and make sure that water is
1 dripping. With the pump running at tick over speed the drip rate should be 10
to 120 80 drips per minute. Adjust the stuffing box gland if necessary

2 Top up Grease in the nipples on the bearings at each end of the impeller shaft

Control console
1 Check the conductivity meter alarm by pressing the alarm button

2 Check the conductivity meter set positions by selecting a set position on the
meter and confirm the monitor reading

3 Remove rear panel and check for any general water leakage from hose
connections. Tighten if necessary

4 Check the cable between the conductivity meter and the monitor and ensure
that the connection is secure

5 General check for loose wiring

Monthly
Engine
1 Check Gearbox oil and top up as necessary

Water Pump
1 Check gearbox oil level and top up as necessary

Control Console & Washer

With about 300mm of water in the tank, open drain tap and check that the
1 alarm sounds at the Hi level mark, but the engine continues to run. The
engine should shut down at the low level mark

2 Check the wash gun for mechanical damage, and correct function.

3 Check tank drain tap operates and that is not blocked with any debris/ plastic

4 Check tank for any mechanical damage due to any road accidents

Check conductivity probe, by connecting the probe from the portable meter
5 to the back of the fixed meter and cross check to ensure readings are within
10% of each other

Engine
1 Air cleaner restriction check

2 Check air compressor mounting

3 Fuel injection pump mounting – check

4 Check radiator hoses

5 Check lubricating oil & filters

6 Check radiator cap

7 Change oil

8 Change filter

Water Pump

1 Check pump block temperature (should be warm to the hand when the pump
has been running)

2 Check oil level in pump gearbox

Control Console & Washer


1 Check Hose for scuffing and other damage

2 Check for any leaks and cure

3 Check bleed taps (run under pressure for 1 minute if blocked)

4 Check suction filter in tank and replace

5 Clean inside of tank of debris with high pressure water

6 Remove & check wash gun nozzle for any debris from inside of hose
line/sealing tape

7 Replace nozzle if damaged

8 Trailer - Check brake cable and replace if necessary

9 Trailer - Check tyre pressure

10 When Earthing reel fitted tighten bolts to chassis/sub frame

11 Check hose reel for damage

12 Check reel free running with brake disengaged

13 Check reel start / stop button

1 Check engine coolant

2 Change fuel filter canister

3 Check lubricating oil

Water Pump
1 Change gearbox oil

2 Purge grease in bearings at each end of the impeller shaft

3 Check drip rate and if excessive replace Grafoil rings in stuffing block

Control Console & Washer


1 Check turbine in water recycle line

2 Check throttle solenoid slide

3 Change water suction filter in tank

4 Check for damage and leakage from suction hose

1 Check air compressor discharge line

2 Check cooling system –flush

3 Check cooling fan belt tensioner

4 Check air compressor discharge line

5 Check vibration damper

Water Pump
1 Check for any leakage

2 Check any increase in pump noise level

Control Console & Washer


1 Check batteries and replace as necessary

2 Check function of Switch Gage

3 Check connections at rear of conductivity meter & monitor

4 Trailers - Check condition of tyres
