INTRODUCTION
This is a managerial report that entails the second week of the field attachment which was
from the 25th -29th July 2018. The report offers details of the activities, experiences,
achievements and challenges. During my leadership period, I was able to make collective
decisions as well as guiding the team.
GOAL
-To coordinate duties of the team.
My aim for setting this goal is to help the team to achieve the duties planned for the week.
The leadership style is very open and collegial style of running a team. It involves
subordinates in decision making. Ideas are discussed freely and openly, therefore the leader
makes final decision. It allows members of the team to play more participative role in
decision making. For instance, we set down and planned activities together and also
brainstormed and designed a data collection tool as a team. I was able to acquire knowledge
to my team members. I deployed my team according to the planned activities for easy
achievement of the set objectives. It brought about ownership and involvement of group
members hence leading to achieved set goals and objectives. I was able to reschedule with the
chief representative to set ano ther day for interview as at the appointed date we were held up.

MANAGERIAL SKILLS
These are what the manager uses to assist the organization in accomplishing its goals.
Specifically, a manager will make use of his or her own abilities, knowledge base, experience
sand perspectives to increase the productivity of those with whom they manage. (Gilley,
A.M., & Gilley, J.W. (2008)
Technical skills
Human skill
Human skills are associated with a manager’s ability to work well with others both as a
member of a group and as a leader who gets things done through others (Minelli, 2009). This
skill is crucial because managers deal with directing people. As the manager I was able to
deal directly with my team mates and get the best out of them. I was able to communicate,
motivate, lead and inspire my team because I set a good example in all our activities and was
ever time conscious.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Designing a data collection tool (questionnaire)
Gathering information for community profile
Compilation of the weekly and monthly report
To get an appointment to meet with the Kgosi for an interview
CHALLENGES
Lack of transport
Shortage of stationary (printing papers)
CONCLUSION
As the manager of the week, I was resourceful in helping the team to achieve all the planned
activities for the week. This was made possible through team spirit. The support I got from
staff members made my work much easier. The leadership style applied in this week is the
democratic leadership style because it plays a significant role in creating job satisfaction
since a sense of authority, control and participation is fostered within the democratic
leadership style. The style is also typical excellent at solving complex issues. Managerial
skills were also applied to assist in accomplishing set goals.
