A Note from College Leadership

This last year, everyone in education rallied quickly and courageously to do whatever we had to in
order to keep reaching and teaching students during the pandemic. We are thrilled to tell you WGU
graduated 12,424 new teacher-leaders into our nation’s communities and schools over the last
year. Think about that for a minute. That’s 12,424 professionally trained changemakers heading
into the education profession! We celebrate them, and we also celebrate the impact each of YOU
are having transforming lives for the better. If you haven’t seen this post highlighting four of our
award-winning alumni teachers, give it a look. Thank you for inspiring all of us in the Teachers
College. Keep leading.

An Opportunity to Live the

Dream
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (also
known as DACA) is a federal policy that
protects the children of undocumented
immigrants in America. Dreamers, as the
children are called, will have access to apply
for a social security number, a driver’s
license, and a work permit. What DACA
doesn’t provide are Pell Grants and student
loans for dreamers that want to pursue a
higher education. Read how WGU’s
Opportunity Grants help students who
don’t have access to traditional state and
federal funding.
