NAME OF THE PROJECT:
HEALTH AND EDUCATION OF STREET CHILDREN IS A MUST: ACTION IS THE KEY

OBJECTIVES:
● To improve the knowledge and nutritional health to stimulate their body and also to
introduce nutrition education
● To provide an estimate of the nutritional requirements of children with moderate
malnutrition, examining wasted and stunted children separately
● To formulate recommendations to improve the dietary management of moderate
malnutrition. We also want to improve their knowledge and teach what we know
● To help homeless kids to read and to write
● To teach them basic knowledge. Examples are counting, reading, and good manners and
right conduct
● To put smiles on their faces and let them enjoy for a while
● To relieve the hunger of the street children even just for 2 days; and
● To give them hope to continue living

TARGET LOCATION:
This project will be conducted in Barangay Upper Bicutan of Taguig City, Philippines.

PROJECT RATIONALE:
Hunger and starveness are one of the most common problems that street people experience
everyday, especially during this time of pandemic. The Feeding programs are the most widely
distributed solution that can be provided in a community. So, in order to help the kids who suffer
from this, our group decided to introduce a project that gives an effort to reduce the occurrence
of malnutrition in our Barangay. This project prioritizes the homeless children to give them some
support and care that aim to motivate them to continue living. Most of them are treated to be
ignored when they're begging for food. They may also experience beaten, sexually abuse or
worst, killing. A homeless child can be turned into a bad person just to buy what they need.
This four-hour feeding program has an inclusion that gives free basic skills such as reading,
counting, writing, and good manners and right conduct for the kids who aren't able to do it
because of lack of education. This project will be conducted in 2 days (alternatively) with the
help of a sponsor on the financial expenses and with some volunteers from people who are
willing to do it and have passion for helping the people in need. Also, with the assistance of
concerned citizens, the government, organizations we can put in place a program that will benefit
our community. In this opportunity, they can enhance their mind and can make friends to have
some fun. Inarguable, two (2) days is a short time for this project but, if ever this project will be
successful, our group might consider conducting it again.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
METHODOLOGY
Our group will provide a four-hour free teaching and feeding program. This program will be
implemented by conducting a simple program led by our group with the help of other
sponsorship and officials within the location. The said program will be conducted for 2 days.
They will be helped and given basic education and nourishment through the Street Education
Program run by our group. For the children, we will plan fundamental classes such as teaching
them how to read and write. It will inspire street children to participate in many types of
learning. That would help them to be motivated and encouraged, as well as developing an
interest in education.
We'll also educate children on how to effectively interact with and respect their elders. We
wanted them to have the same school experience as the other kids their age, even if it was just for
2 days. In addition, our group will supply them with school supplies (pencil, eraser, notebook,
and crayons). In this way, kids will be inspired to continue and appreciate what they're doing,
and who knows, they could even consider going to school since it is educational and enjoyable.
Each member of our group will be assigned a task and be responsible for it. Our group is aiming
for 70–100 street children.
In this program, our group will not only share our knowledge with the children, but also assist
them and allow them to have fun, even if just for 2 days. By doing this project, we can also show
teamwork and cooperation skills, which we may use in other activities and hopefully in our
future professions. We aim to inspire and encourage our fellow students by showing them how
small activities can have a great influence on others.

This feeding program and free education program will happen on the 13th and 15th day of April
2022 at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
