Properties of Light
Refracted Light
A spoon inside a clear glass with water appears broken. Why is this so? When light
passes from one material to another for example, from air to water, it changes it speed.
It either slows down or speeds up .The change in speed of light causes the material to
appear cut, bent, or refracted. Refraction is the bending of light when it passes through
some objects.
B. Illustrative Examples :
Refracted Light
As you look at the pencil, the top part of the pencil came directly to your
eyes light rays from the bottom part passed first through the surface
between the water and the air.
