 Dongle and Passwords

 To operate SICAM PAS, a dongle and a password list for the optional
applications are necessary.

©  The dongle has to be plugged on an USB port of the PAS computer
(or Station Unit). A parallel port version is also available.

 The dongle comes together with a password list, which contains

passwords for all bought applications.

 Later, to add an application, just buy the additional password.

 In Server-DIP-configurations we need several different dongles for

Full Server and DIPs.

 Parameterization without configuration license

Even if you have no configuration license but a runtime license you can do some
(limited)parameterization in the UI-Configuration tool.

© You can add new applications, mainly für PQS applications. In this case IEC 103 and
IEC61850 protocols belong to these applications.

With all the other applications you can:

 not connect new devices or interfaces

 not delete devices or interfaces aber alle anderen
 change parameters
 add new information

You can run SICAM PAS PQS in two modes:

 SICAM PAS PQS V7.0 - Demo

Demo version (without Dongle)

In the demo version SICAM PAS/PQS runs as single system (no DIPs). After 3 hours
all protocoll drivers and the central server stop running, the configuration manger is still

© running.
After each restart of your PC the demo version runs the next 3 hours.

The following restrictions are valid:

 Projects which you have created with the demo version can not be used in the full
version
 SICAM PAS/PQS in demo version can not run as a distributed system (no DIP)
 There can be saved only 1 fault record per device in the archive. Furthermore you
can save only PQ data for one day.

License version
With the license version SICAM PAS/PQS can run as a single system or as DIP(s).
