OBJECTIVE 17

ADOPTED PRACTICES THAT UPHOLD THE DIGNITY OF TEACHING AS A PROFESSION BY

EXHIBITING QUALITIES SUCH AS CARING ATTITUDE, RESPECT AND INTEGRITY

ANNOTATIONS

To prove that I met Objective 17 by adopting practices that uphold the dignity of
teaching as a profession by exhibiting qualities such as a caring attitude, respect, and
integrity, I immediately give feedback/academic support when learners needed an
assistance in doing the given performance task in Mathematics. As one evidence this
can be seen from the screen shot of my conversation to one of my grade 9
Mathematics learners who give positive feedback to the academic support extended
to her. These is one of my demonstrations of how I wholeheartedly carry out my
responsibilities as a classroom teacher amidst the pandemic.

OBJECTIVE 14

REVIEWED REGULARLY PERSONAL TEACHING PRACTICE USING EXISTING LAWS AND

REGULATIONS THAT APPLY TO THE TEACHING PROFESSION AND THE RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIED IN THE CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS

ANNOTATIONS

To demonstrate the impact of my regular review of my personal teaching practice

using existing laws and regulations as evidence for Objective 14, every time my
students ask for help on how are they going to do the performance tasks in
Mathematics I sent video immediately discussing the lesson, this is my practice last
school year and believing that this is the best way on how I am going to explain the
lesson to the concern learners for them to understand and have quality education I
adopted this strategy this school year but the difference is, instead of taking video of
my self while giving illustration on the board I just took video on my hand showing
illustration on a bond paper while explaining step by step the problem being asked. In
doing it saves time because I will no longer set up a tripod just to take video of myself,
one thing more I do not need to be in my classroom for me to explain the lesson being
ask by my learners because pen, paper and smart cellphones can do. This strategy is
effective for the learners to understand the lesson and are able to answer the given
performance task in Mathematics with complete illustrations/solutions. This practice is
aligned to Article IV: A Teacher and the Profession, Section 2. Every teacher shall
uphold the highest possible standards of quality education, shall make the best
preparations for the career of teaching, and shall be at his best at all times and in the
practice of his profession. This is also in accordance with Article VIII: The Teachers
and Learners, Section 9. A teacher shall ensure that conditions contribute to the
maximum development of learners are adequate, and shall extend needed assistance
in preventing or solving learner’s problems and difficulties.
Hence, when face to face will not be possible for the next school year I will be
adopting the same strategy to ensure the maximum development of learners and to
uphold the highest possible standard of quality education.
