Activity 1.

The Man and the Little Cat:

The moral lesson that I can pick from this fable, is to never desert a sufferer or
someone who is in exigency of help. The man shows us how important kindness is,
as the saying goes “no man is an island”, true to the quote the man didn’t let the
other fellow man to talk him out of offering succor the poor cat. I can also fathom
from this fable that sometimes the people who verily needs our help, are the ones
who bites the hardest, just like how the cat scratched the man in fear. Now we can
look at it in two ways: one, the cat was overwrought and couldn’t control its
reflexes because of fear; two, the cat had seen many people passed by and not one
offered to help him out of the gutter, this molded an ill feeling towards people or
untrustworthy. For the latter in the preceding statement, the cat in a way felt
betrayed by humans, just like how some people felt betrayed by others who turned
their back on them when they needed them the most. They’re the people who are
labeled as ‘anti-social’ or a ‘lost cause’ when in all factuality it was the society
who turned their backs first on these individuals. To sum it all up, when someone
needs our help, it might be a friend, a relative, or a random stranger on the street,
we can’t let them suffer; instead we must do our best to help them, to never give up
on them, and to show them that there’s still hope for recuperate.

V. Assessment: MY ORGANIZATIONS

Name of Organization:
National Science Club Month (NSCM)

Type of Organization:
September is considered as the National Science Club Month (NSCM) under
Presidential Proclamation No. 264. During the NSCM the Philippine Society of
Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) conducts activities that encourage the youth to
actively participate in the science clubbing movement.

My Position//Role in The Organization:

I’m a member of a sub camp and for every science month we compete with other
subcamps.

Note: I can’t provide a proper picture po because I just recently joined, and the
pandemic limits us to virtual meetings only.

In National Science Club Month organization, each member/participant are

grouped and divided into different sub camps. Those members of sub camp are
given an opportunity to part take in different competitions every month, be it may
as a group or individual. Our challenges will always be different and so the role we
execute for our given position, as defender of our sub camps, is based from the
activities we are given. I can see myself giving my role another try for the next
science month, and I think I am successful in completing the tasks that our given to
me. I say this with firm belief, because my team mates and I, was able to pass our
entry before the deadline and got praise for our work. To be honest because of the
pandemic and the limited time I interacted with the other members, I hadn’t
created meaningful bonds. Their opinions of me as a new member is vague,
therefore I cannot provide an answer as to how they see me as a new member and
if they see me fit to their standards.
