 These days, we can see people holding something in their bare hands. They take
this thing everywhere they go, seems like a very important thing right? They face it
all day, and we can say that they're being addicted to this thing especially those
students. The question, is what is this thing? A gadget. According to Oxford
languages, Gadget is a small mechanical or electronic device or tool, especially an
ingenious or novel one. It is a small thing that anyone could have. It can be
cellphone, laptop, tablet etc. The word gadget came from the French word
"gâchette" means "lock mechanism" or "gagée" which means "tool". Gadgets are
very popular in this entire world, and even little kids know how to use it. Having a
gadget may help one's be more productive and intellectual. Gadgets tend to be
more unusual or cleverly designed than normal technology.

Technology has always been advancing throughout the years. It has made a big
impact on people especially on lifestyle. One of the many things that are affected
in the society; having been a common source of information and intertainment. In
our present generation, students are obssessed in using Gadgets. They usually want
to buy the latest release of these Gadgets to satisfy their desires in terms of
entertainment and getting the newest of the new. As a result, students tend to
involve gadgets in their everyday lives including in their studies.

What age does students have their first gadget? How often they used it? Does
Gadgets affect students concentration in their studies?. According to the Pew
Research Center, most parents (45%) think it’s acceptable for kids to have a phone
between the ages of 12 and 14.1 About 28% of parents wait until ages 15 to 17,
and 16% think it’s fine to let kids as young as 9 have their own phones. But these
days, even a 11 years old below have their own cellphones. Some of them is more
expert in using gadgets than olders. Most of student that that the researcher's
interviewed, they used their gadgets everyday. And it affect their concentration in
bad ways that caused their laziness and they do unneccessary things while studying
like exploring on social medias and as a result, they can't finish their studies on
time.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of gadget/s in a student studies?

How does gadget addiction influence students?. The disadvantages of these
gadgets on students can be the fact that they can become obsessive and students
can neglect everything else, like their social life, their family and friends. It's not a
bad thing to have gadgets, but it's bad thing to spend all you life in front of it
pretending that everything else doesn't exist. Otherwise, most gadgets have
advantages considering that they enable us to do things faster and easier and they
are also good when it comes to learning new things and, let's face it, they make our
life a lot easier. There is some list of the essential gadgets for students we have: A
laptop with the fast wireless internet connection enables the students to do their
projects even if they are in a coffee bar, in a park or on the road. The best thing
about laptops is the fact that they are portable and easy to carry. A desktop is also
good, but they couldn't bring it with them to class. The next essential gadget is an
iPod. This is must have in a life of a student, because they can store all their music,
pod-cats, videos and more. It is also a good companion on the road or everywhere.
Modern technologies like television and computers provide identifiable
educational advantages, such as greater access to information and more compelling
presentations of that information. Over-use of technology, though, especially such
as gadgets as cellphones, iPods and video games, presents a whole range of
problems which may interfere with a student's ability to learn and attend to lessons.

As we know, gadgets are now part of our daily basis. Dealing with the Impact
of Modern Gadgets on our lives whether we like it or not, electric appliances and
gadgets have occupied a major position in our day to day lives. Though they were
invented to make life better for us in the first place, it is an undeniable fact that
many gadgets have negative influence upon the quality or our lives in some ways.
As we cannot live without them in this modern world and they are a necessary evil,
we have to find ways to reduce the negative impact of those modern appliances. A
gadget is a device or appliance having a unique purpose amd function. At the time
of invention, a gadget is often way ahead of its peers in terms of novelty and
uniqueness. This is what makes them, so desirable and 'cool'!.

Gadgets affect the study habit of a student in many aspects. Using gadgets a
student start becoming stupid, dependable, and careless and do all his/her work
with the help of gadgets. He also becomes drowsy and wants to do all his works in
shortcut. In this age of technology no part of life is deprived from the impact it has
created on life pattern and so education is no exception. Education has undergone a
revolutionary change with students being seen with laptops, tabs, and other
gadgets.
 Online education is the biggest proof of how education has been impacted with
technology, no region in this world has remained aloof from this new form of
education. The gadgets are very useful, they help us connect to each other, they
make us learn new things and discover new things. The reason why computer
technologies are invented is to help make people's life easier and to improve their
way of life, especially the students. Modern computer technologies make studying
easier and fun to students. As long as student's don't become fanatics when it
comes to gadgets, we don't think that they could have bad influence or a bad effect
on students. The gadgets make out life better in many ways. Let's take for example
the cell phone, many of you are "lost" without it and when it comes to students
device is more than just a cell phone, is a chat opportunity, an internet connection,
a camera and more. Because mobile phones have today a lot of features and they
are not just devices made of communication between people.

Today’s students, who have been growing up within a digital environment are
called “digital natives”, “millennials”, “the net generation” and “grasshopper
minds”. The concept of “digital native” is generally used to coin students of the
new millennium (the year 2000 and after). Digital natives are students who were
born into a technology-rich world, have met technology earlier in life, make heavy
use of technology, create a technological learning environment around themselves
and create their own unique language (Oblinger & Oblinger, 2005; Pedró, 2006;
Prensky, 2001).Although children are interacting with gadgets in our day (via
games, e-mail, chat), the meaning of gadgets from their eyes and what their
understanding of gadgets can be is still worth dealing with. Children’s definition of
gadgets, which shapes life and has become indispensable, the way and according to
which means it is used, could impact the way they make effective and conscious
use of gadget both during childhood and adulthood and even their professional
preference. There are many studies about how children make use of gadgets
(Chaudron, 2015; Gronn, Scott, Edwards, & Henderson, 2014; McKenney &
Voogt, 2010). The results of these studies demonstrate that children define the
purpose of using gadgets under three main categories as communication, game and
research. If children make the right and effective use of technology, they start
being productive. This depends on the way they define what gadget is. As
educationists, if we become aware of these facts, we can guide children. Moreover,
the purpose of use of gadgets and the effective skills of using gadgets may also
affect the professional preferences among children. Ardies, De Maeyer and Gijbels
(2015) have noted that the interest of children in gadgets increases every day and
as they age and that the students that use technology effectively or that attend
classes about technology tend to make their professional preferences also in the
area of technology.

In today's life, we know gadgets became one of the important thing in every
human beings. Tasks are maximized with the use of modern gadgets. It is easier to
accomplish daily tasks and people are also able to do work with efficiency. One
cannot even dare to imagine life without smart phones, cell phones, laptops,
tablets, iPods and so on (Tech Crates, 2012). Today's gadgets are one of the ways
to make life more comfortable and easier. But at the same time these thing is one
of the lifestyle disturbance and a reason of a persons laziness. As per its solution,
we need to be responsible in using it, especially to those students. And do one
thing at a time, we cannot do studying and using cellphone at one time, must focus
on our studies. Shy (2010) says that no one can deny the fact that gadgets have not
only simplified the lives of people but also made them more comfortable and
luxurious. Indeed, these gadgets really made a huge impact in people's lives and
became part of it.
