25 III. OBJECTIVE OF THE MEETING - EXPLANATION

27 To improve and increase the level of youth participation in education amidst the global
28 health crisis- the Covid 19 pandemic, inculcating the value and importance of education
29 among youths in the City of Cauayan.

33 A. Youths’ Resiliency: Passion for Education Caravan

35 i. Education Legacy Virtual Camp

37 The Education Legacy Virtual Camp aims to integrate the value of education
38 among youths in times of Covid 19 pandemic, also aims to encourage them
39 to be determined and disciplined individuals while in online set-up of
40 learning.

42 The Education Legacy Virtual Camp aims to boost the motivational factors of
43 high school and college youths in the City of Cauayan, it will be conducted
44 virtually on June 22, 2020, from 8 o’clock to 11 o’clock in the morning.

46 It shall be attended to by the City Officials, the members SK Federation, Local
47 Youth Development Office, and the members of the Junior Chamber
48 International.

50 All high school and college students are free to join in the said Virtual Camp,
51 and shall give their full participation while having the entire event.

53 The Virtual Camp will highlight the essence of education in every student’s
54 lives, in school and in the community.

56 The LYDO will be in-charge and responsible in facilitating the said virtual
57 camp.

59 For the implementation of the virtual camp will be divided into four
60 components: (1) acceptance and registration of participants, (2) briefing of
61 participant on regards to house rules, (3) discussion proper and open forum,
62 and (4) closing ceremony.

67 The speaker will open the virtual floor for questions, clarifications and all
68 other concerns of the participants.

73 After the virtual camp all participants who completed the whole duration of
74 the event will be given electronic certificate of participation.

78 B. THE NEW MEDIA LITERACY IN DISTANCE LEARNING

80 i. Project YOUth: Educ-CONNECT!

82 Project YOUth: Educ-CONNECT! aims to disseminate the significant use of
83 new media literacy in acquiring knowledge and skills in the era of Internet. In
84 this time of the global health crisis, high school and college students are very
85 exposed in the use of internet, some students are using it effectively but
86 some are not.

88 Project YOUth: Educ-CONNECT! will instill students on how they effectively
89 use the internet in bridging the gaps in the new set-up of education which is
90 the online learning.

92 Project YOUth: Educ-CONNECT! will discuss the definition of new media
93 literacy, technical skills and knowledge that can be acquired and its usage
94 risks and limitations among online learners.

96 The participants involved are high school and college students in the City of
97 Cauayan, Project YOUth: Educ-CONNECT! will be conducted virtually in the
98 afternoon of June 22, 2020 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.

100 It shall be attended to by the City Officials, the members SK Federation, Local
101 Youth Development Office, and the members of the Junior Chamber

107 The energizer will be called “e-sayaw”, the facilitators/organizers will play a
108 sound of a famous dance craze circulating from the internet and after the
109 participants will guess and show the moves of that dance craze.

114 The participants are task to do info graphics relating to the role of new media
115 literacy in the field of education to be attach in the provided Google form by
116 the facilitators.

118 iv. PRIZE FOR THE INFO GRAPHICS

120 The facilitators will choose 5 best info graphics outputs from the participants
121 and will have a prize of 500 pesos each, facilitators shall likewise choose 5
122 info graphics for consolation price of 200 pesos each. All winners will be
123 informed and they will receive their prices through G-cash. The Local Youth
124 Development Office will be the in-charge in requesting the funds needed to
125 provide the prizes of all the winners.
