II. BACKGROUND

The COVID-19 pandemic and its related containment

measures—mainly physical distancing and isolation—are having
detrimental consequences on the mental health of the general
population worldwide. In particular, frustration, loneliness,
and worries about the future are common reactions and
represent well-known risk factors for several mental
disorders, including anxiety, affective, and post-traumatic
stress disorders. Barangay Boniao has been severely hit by the
pandemic, and the socio-cultural context is completely
different from other barangays.

Therefore, the psychological consequences of quarantine,

such as frustration, loneliness, and worries about the future
are well-known risk factors for several mental disorders,
including anxiety, affective disorders, and psychoses.

The study focused on securing physical distance between

people (of at least one meter), and reduce contact with
contaminated surfaces, while encouraging and sustaining
virtual social connection within families and communities. The
reason why I conduct this study is because it is relevance in
today’s

worldwide situation. And we must need to learn and be aware

about this study.

III. OBJECTIVES AND METHODS

 Is there a significant difference between the responses of

the residents and frontliners of Barangay Boniao along with
its variables?

This study made use of the descriptive survey method.

This method is considered appropriate because it is a fact-
finding with adequate interpretation. This is a method that
is something more and beyond data-gathering were this data
are subject to the thinking process in terms of reasoning.

disease by stopping chains of transmission of COVID-19 and

preventing new ones from appearing.

responses of the residents and frontliners on the impact of
quarantine and physical distancing having an average mean
value of 4.83 and 5.04 which was within the range of “almost

same level of adjectival equivalent.
