e. Time duration: 1 Hour
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENTS’ ACTIVITY

I. Preliminary Activities

A. Prayer

“Before we start _______, kindly lead the prayer”. (pray)

B. Greetings

Good morning Class!

Good morning Ma’am!

C. Checking of Attendance

“May I call the secretary of the class for the report

of today’s attendance”?

“I’m glad to hear that you are all present today”.

“Thank you”! “Thank you”!

“I’m glad to say that there’s no absentee for today”.

II. Review the past lesson

“Before we begin ou lesson this morning,

Let’s talk back who among you still remember our (The student A will answer)
previous lesson?”

“Very Good” Student A,

III. Motivation

“Before we start our discussion, I prepare a short

video for you”. (The video will show on the screen)
(The students will look on the screen)

“I will define first what is Postural Control”.

“Postural control is defined as the act of

maintaining, achieving, or restoring a state of
balance during any posture or activity. Postural
control strategies may be either predictive or
reactive and may involve either fixed support or a
change-in-support response. Clinical tests of
balance assess different components of balance
ability”.

“The importance of Postural Control is that it

provides a basis of support that allows the arms and
legs to move smoothly”.
(The students will listen)

(shows a system on the development of postural

control)

“Postural reflexes keep the body upright and

aligned. These reflexes are triggered by the effects
of gravity on the body and begin to develop after
the baby is born”.

“There are different types of posture”. “The active

and inactive posture”. “Inactive Posture are postures
adopted for resting or sleeping. They are useful
when all the essential muscular activity required to
maintain life is reduced to a minimum". “ Active
Posture is the action of many muscles is required to
maintain active postures, it can be static or
dynamic”.

“STATIC POSTURE: It usually refers to the

standing or sitting position. DYNAMIC POSTURE:
This is the alignment of the body while moving”.

“A sensory system is a part of the nervous system

responsible for processing sensory information. The
visual, vestibular, and somatosensory systems are
the main sensory systems involved in postural
control and balance”

“The visual system is the primary receiver of

sensory information to maintain postural balance,
and as such our postural stability increases with the
improvement of the visual environment”

“The vestibular system orientates the trunk to

vertical using sensory orientation and weighting
appropriate sensory cues under different sensory
environments”.

“The somatosensory system is a complex system of (The students will listen)

sensory neurons and pathways that responds to
changes at the surface or inside the body

IV. Lesson Proper

1. Activity

“Yes Ma’am”

“Our activity is you will be group into 5 and

perform 5 exercises that can help you improve your
posture”

“I will be the one to choose your groupmates”

“Now you should brainstorm ideas and pratice your

exercises”

2. Analysis

(Student A will answer)

“ In our discussion what have you leaned?”.

(Student B will answer)

“Do you think having a good posture is

important?”. Why and Why not

3. Abstraction

“So today we talk and understand what is postural

control and it’s development”.

“Types of Postures”

“The Postural Reflexes, Sensory Sytem, and three

types of sensory system”.

V. Assessment

“Now we will have a 10 item quiz”

1. Is defined as the act of maintaining,

achieving, or restoring a state of balance
during any posture or activity?

2. Is postural control important? YES or NO

3. It keeps the body upright and aligned?

4-5 .What are the 2 types of Posture?

6-10 Give 5 exercises to improve your posture

VI. Assignment

Make a Diagram that shows the bad and good

posture. How it affects you body when performing
physical activities.
