1. TUCK CORDS SAFELY AWAY.
DO NOT EXCESSIVELY PULL
ON THEM!

nearest outlet.

stretch the cord
across someone’s
workspace!
2. KEEP THE FOOT PEDAL FLAT ON THE FLOOR.
DO NOT KICK OR DROP THE PEDAL.

Note: Pedals
break easily—
please be
extra careful!

3. KEEP FINGERS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FABRIC/
PRESSER FOOT, NEVER IN THE NEEDLE’S PATH!

Use both hands to guide the fabric


4. ALLOW THE FEED DOG TO PULL THE FABRIC
THROUGH. DO NOT PUSH OR PULL.
5. REMOVE PINS BEFORE THEY GO UNDER THE
PRESSER FOOT. DO NOT SEW OVER THEM!
6. SEW AT A SLOW, COMFORTABLE SPEED.

7. REST YOUR FOOT ON THE GROUND,


NOT THE PEDAL, WHEN YOU’RE NOT
SEWING. POWER OFF THE MACHINE
WHEN NOT IN USE.

8. ONE PERSON PER


MACHINE.
ADDITIONAL RULES
• Never try to force the machine if there is
any resistance when sewing. Stop sewing
immediately if you think something’s
wrong.
• Do not sew if there is no teacher to
supervise.
• Hang up your pedal at the end of class
(so custodians can clean floor)
