On-the-Job Training Activity
(Summary)

On the job training or OJT is a part of the development program in the tertiary level and the requirements of

every student before graduating in a bachelor degree. The focus of the OJT program is to develop the skill of the

student and to prepare the student to the working environments in their choosing career.

On the last week of June 2021, our OJT has been started, it was on June 25 when our department admin calls

us to start our internships on Monday June 28, 2021, the maximum hours of the duration of our OJT is 162 hours, it

last almost 21 days and half, before the TMCF assign us to our designated office, Mrs. Jean Gudoyo the executive

secretary takes us a short orientation. Mrs. Gudoyo inform us about the do's and don'ts and the rules inside the TMCF

and also as an intern student, and also, she informs us about the confidentiality of the Tan Ting Bing Memorial

Colleges Foundation Incorporated.

Me and my classmate: Van Ludwig Rubia choose to take our OJT in our school to avoid too much expenses

because its pandemic and we cannot afford now to apply in other company outside the Northern Samar to experience

the other big company environment, but in here in TMCF, as a student intern we feel the same pressure and the same

working environments as an employee.

In almost 21 days of being an intern, I've been assigned to the cashier office, and my supervisor in the cashier

office is Mrs. Nerresa Herrero the cashier of the TMCF, my designated work inside the TMCF’s cashier office is to

encode the data of the payment of the student into the Microsoft excel, entry the data of the new enrolled student into

the enrollee update record, and to make the daily remittances of the cashier office.

In the first day of my internships my first job is to insert the payment record of the of student ledger into the

Microsoft excel payment record, every detail of the payment of the student, date of the payment and the OR number of

the payment receipt of the student.

On the first day of our internship

I've been assigned in the cashier’s office.

Mrs. Herrero the cashier gives me

the first task to do as an intern student

which is to encode the student ledger in

to the Microsoft excel database, the

first, I encoded are the student ledger of

the BEED-3 and the BSCRIM-1, 1

encode all the payment detail of every student.

Encoding student ledger

the courses and year level. It consumed my 1 week, so the first week of my internship my task is to encode all the data

of the student in the payment record in the

Microsoft excel. And I encode also the student

ledger of the basic ed. The elementary and the

junior high school. The book in the picture is

the student ledger, all the record of the payment

of the student are on the book and my every

student. Encoding all the ledger of all task in to

encode it to the Microsoft excel to make the

backup computerize database.

This is all the student ledger of the

TMCF cashier, and I completed encoding it in

the first week of my internship. During my

internships in the TMCF cashier office, I've been

assigned in making the daily remittance's every

day, the daily

remittance is based on the payment of the day. The data that I’ve been encoding to make daily remittance is from the

copy of the receipt of the cashier, every transaction in the cashier office, the tuition fee, graduation fee, ID, or

anything else that have a payment

involve, is what I been inputting in the

daily remittance. After I encoded the

daily remittance I submit the hard copy

of the daily remittance to the cashier

clerk, Mr. Jill Castillo.

The yellow papers in the pictures are the copy of the receipt of the cashier and I about to encode it make the

daily remittances of the cashier office.

The yellow short bond paper on the picture are the cashier copy of the daily remittance, and as you can see

theirs a punching machine on it because I about to punch the finished remittance to compile the remittances in the

month. In the right picture was me, and I am encoding the daily remittance of the cashier.
In the 21 days of my internship, I experienced a lot of activity. The work that had been assigned to me is to
encode the ledger, make the remittances.
This is the summary of my ON-THE-JOB TRAINING as a COMPUTER SCIENCE student of the TAN
TING BING MEMORIAL COLLEGES FOUNDATION INCORPORATED.

Lastly, this is all the activity and the works that I had experienced, making billing statement, making the
remittance, encoding ledger, assisting the enrollment form, and also making the examination permit.
New knowledge and skills Acquired

The ON-THE-JOB TRAINING is the activity of the school to train the student in the real working

environments and make the student challenge their ability an any circumstances during the internships, and the OJT

makes the student acquired new knowledge and skill that can help them and they can use it in their future work or

business.

In 21 days of my OJT in TMCF, I’d been exposed into the working experience, and I can say that I acquired a

lot of new knowledge and skills. For the new knowledge I acquired during the OJT, is the manual process of payment

in the cashier office of the TMCF.It gives me the idea of how the cashier work in manual, and it can help me in the

future if I make the payment system or something that is a computerize and it involves a payment, it gives me the

logic of the actual process of the payment.

And for the skill I had acquired during the ON THE JOB TRAINING, the work that Mrs. Herrero assigned to

me is encoding all the data into the Microsoft excel or in Microsoft word, and in this type of work it enhances my

typing ability and reduces drastically my typographic errors.

Lastly, the skill that I acquired during my internship is the improve typing ability than before the OJT started

and much aware to the typographic error of my sentences. It is important to me us a computer science student because

in term of programming if you were faster to type then it is faster to finish your project or work and the awareness in

typographic error helps in typing the right syntax, if I am programming a school project or even it is working project.
Problem Encountered

As an intern student of the TMCF cashiers’ office, there are problems that I've encountered, during doing and

fulfilling the task that was given to me, for the others it is a small problem, but for me it has a huge impact as student

who is taking the BS Computer Science and also as a future computer programmer.

The problem that I’d been encountered during my ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING (OJT) is the typo error in

encoding the task that I been doing, in encoding the remittances and the student ledger is a must be in a correct

spelling because it is the record of every student in the TMCF, so some typo error will effect in the proper record of

the student, and this problem affects to the time duration of encoding the data like for example the remittances of the

TMCF. This problem gives me a pressure during my internship because it delays of making and finishing the work

that was assigned to me by my supervisor, and also it has an negative effect to the cashier office of the misspelled

names.

my 164 hours ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING (OJT) consist of 21 days, and in this 21 day this is the only problem

I encountered during completing the 164 hours OJT.

Recommendation

To the problems that I encountered during my OJT is typo error, this is maybe a small but it has big effect as a

future computer programmer. This kind of problem is can be reform and it improve if you will and you have a

dedication to achieved you want to your life.

During my OJT I realize this dilemma, and I think it should be improved in order to more efficient skilled

programmer. The first thing I do is set a schedule in practicing encoding in the Microsoft excel, I set 2 hours a day of

practicing in encoding in order to enhance my typing speed and decrease my typo error. The OJT reminds me that If I

ignore some mistakes or disability of myself, it will be a big problem if you are in the field of computer programming.

And the effect of the misspelled names during my OJT are motivate me to take some self-improvements.

While I am taking my internship, it gives me a knowledge of what to do or what should I do in order to pass

the obstacle in life. In every problem comes to our life it will always give us a lesson, and if you use this problem as

your motivation it will bring you up to be the best in your chosen career. And this is what I recommend to those who

face this kind of problems.
