Mẫu đề bài Multiple Choice:

(1) Before Queen Elizabeth I visited the castle in 1576,

 1. Phân tích đề bài

Bước 1: Đọc kỹ câu hỏi và xác định từ khóa

Mục đích: Tìm hiểu thông tin trong đề bài và chuẩn bị cho việc xác định vị trí đáp án.

Cách thực hiện:

• Hầu hết từ khóa khó diễn đạt theo cách khác. Các từ khóa này bao gồm tên, số, thuật ngữ, danh từ (hoặc cụm danh từ)
chỉ tên gọi chung của một đối tượng. Ví dụ: Queen Elizabeth I; 1576.

• Một số từ khóa có thể paraphrase, những cách diễn đạt khác có thể đoán được. Ví dụ: be sold to → be put on the
market for sale.

Bước 2: Đọc đáp án và xác định sự khác biệt chính khi so sánh các đáp án

Mục đích: Giúp thí sinh dễ dàng phân biệt các đáp án.

Cách thực hiện:

• Thông thường, sự khác biệt nằm ở thành phần trả lời trực tiếp cho câu hỏi. Quan sát lại ví dụ (1): điểm khác biệt nằm ở
một hành động xây dựng hoặc phá hủy, ảnh hưởng đến một địa điểm.

• Tuy nhiên, với những đáp án quá ngắn và đơn giản, thí sinh không cần tìm kiếm sự khác biệt. Quan sát ví dụ (2).

Bước 3: Đọc lại câu hỏi và đáp án và dự đoán các bẫy có thể gặp phải trong bài nghe

Mục đích: giúp thí sinh lường trước các nội dung có thể gây nhầm lẫn đáp án.

Cách thực hiện:

• Tìm các loại từ: tính từ, trạng ngữ. Các thông tin này có thể dễ dàng bị thay đổi trong bài nghe.

• Nếu câu hỏi và đáp án có thì động từ đặc biệt (hiện tại hoàn thành, hiện tại tiếp diễn, quá khứ đơn, tương lai đơn…), có
thể trong bài nghe cũng có các thông tin gây nhiễu ở các thì động từ khác nhau.

 2. Nghe và lựa chọn đáp án

Thí sinh chú ý những nội dung dưới đây khi nghe:

#1: Cách nhận biết đáp án chính xác

Ví dụ: the tourist advised people to… → kì vọng thông tin liên quan đến lời khuyên

Nội dung trong bài đọc: We would recommend you to…

Đáp án đúng thể hiện ở đâu?

● Thỏa mãn toàn bộ từ khóa đã gạch chân;

● Tránh toàn bộ các bẫy;

● Ngôn ngữ: liên quan trực tiếp đến câu hỏi.

Ví dụ: The most exciting thing about…

Thông tin trong bài nghe → But I was thrilled to hear about…

hoặc → What I found most intriguing was...

#2: Cách phát hiện đáp án sai

● Các từ khóa đã gạch chân không được đáp ứng.

● Cách sử dụng thì: Quá khứ - hiện tại - tương lai

● Ngôn ngữ dùng để phủ định:

o But, however, yet + sự phủ định thông tin + (đáp án chính xác.)
Ví dụ: Last year, there was a new room established. However, that room was burnt down completely only 2
weeks later. The repair cost was too high, so we decided to turn that area into a playground.

o Unfortunately, sự phủ định thông tin + (đáp án đúng)

o Actually..., đáp án đúng

o Rather than... , instead of… + phủ định thông tin, đáp án đúng

Mục đích: Nắm được các cách diễn đạt sẽ bị thay đổi trong bài nghe để tìm đáp án chính xác.

Cách thực hiện:

• Các cách paraphrase: thay đổi dạng từ, sử dụng từ đồng nghĩa, thay đổi cấu trúc câu.

Ví dụ:

It will encourage them to compete with one another.

→ It will make the market more competitive. (Thay đổi dạng từ)

→ It will make rivals more active. (sử dụng từ đồng nghĩa)

→ People in the field will be encouraged to compete with one another. (Thay đổi cấu trúc câu)

Thông thường, thông tin chính xác là sự kết hợp của nhiều cách trên.

→ Rivals will be motivated to strive against one another in a fiercer manner.

• Đôi khi, các lựa chọn không được đề cập đến trong bài nghe mà thí sinh cần tổng hợp các từ khóa hoặc các dữ kiện để
chọn đáp án. Trong trường hợp này, trước khi nghe, thí sinh nên đưa ra các hình dung về dữ kiện liên quan.

2. Nghe và lựa chọn đáp án

Với dạng bài matching, thí sinh nên tập trung tìm kiếm từ khóa trong khi nghe. Từ khóa là các đề mục trong câu hỏi.
Những từ khóa này thường không thay đổi.
Sau khi đã hoàn thành tìm kiếm, thí sinh có thể tập trung vào nghe và lọc thông tin dựa vào các dự đoán và điền đáp án
trực tiếp, hoặc ghi chú các thông tin nghe được để đưa ra quyết định.
