Tổng Hợp Cách Tiếp Cận Cho Từng Dạng Câu Hỏi RW
Reading&Writing
A) Africa
B) Americas
C) Europe
D) Asia
- Step 1: Đọc đoạn văn. Xác định vị trí chứa thông tin về claim, hypothesis, suggestion,
conclusion,... cần tìm.
Claim nằm ở câu cuối cùng (thông thường là vậy): The student wants to emphasize that
in some regions, honeybee populations had not only rebounded by 2020 but also
reached their highest level in 60 years.
* Central Ideas:
Example:
Admired primarily for her exquisite calligraphy, Otagaki Rengetsu (1791-1875) was
among Japan’s most celebrated artists. She was also a writer and ceramicist, often
inscribing her poems in her own calligraphy onto clay vessels - a distinctive blending of
art forms not replicated by any other artist in Japanese history. Her work was in such
great demand during the nineteenth century that every household in Kyoto was said to
own her pottery, and today scrolls and ceramics bearing her calligraphy are sought
after by collectors.
Which choice best states the main idea of the passage?
A) Otagaki Rengetsu’s artistic creations are prized for their unique qualities.
B) Inscribed clay vessels have traditionally played an important role in Japanese
art.
C) The collaboration between writers and ceramic workers produced highly
distinctive works of art in Japan.
D) Many households in Kyoto once featured scrolls produced by Otagaki Rengetsu.
poems, clay vessels, scrolls, ceramics,... (main point).
* Central Details:
Example:
A family of ten children will be always called a fine family, where there are heads and
arms and legs enough for the number; but the Morlands had little other right to the
word, for they were in general very plain, and Catherine, for many years of her life, as
plain as any. She had a thin awkward figure, a sallow skin without color, dark lank hair,
and strong features - so much for her person; and not less propitious for heroism
seemed her mind.
According to the passage, what is true about Catherine Morland?
5. INFERENCES
A) the bright colors of the fish can easily be perceived, even when the water is
clouded by sediment.
B) marine predators must rely on the visual aspects of their prey.
C) spots and stripes blur together, allowing even stationary fish to merge into the
background.
D) the fish appear as a single mass rather than a group of individual creatures.
là xa (from far away).
* Sentence Completion:
Example:
Despite their physical attractiveness, some butterfly species are regarded as pests
because in their larval stages they are capable of causing damage to crops or trees.
Other species play a less _______ role in the ecosystem, however, because their
caterpillars consume harmful insects.
Which choice completes the text with the most logical and precise word or phrase?
A) exceptional
B) beneficial
C) significant
D) detrimental
phải mang nghĩa là có hại (lưu ý: two negatives equal a positive).
A) preparing
B) recording
C) inscribing
D) transmitting
- Step 1: Đọc bài và tìm dẫn chứng.
“Computers tally the number and speed of cars, shoot the data through underground
A,D là đáp án sai vì magnetic coils of wire không thể prepare hay transmit each
passing car.
Example:
The following text is adapted from Oscar Wilde’s 1897 nonfiction work De Profundis.
People whose desire is solely for self-realisation never know where they are going.
They can’t know. In one sense of the word it is of course necessary to know oneself:
that is the first achievement of knowledge. But to recognise that the soul of a man is
unknowable, is the ultimate achievement of wisdom. The final mystery is oneself.
When one has weighed the sun in the balance, and measured the steps of the moon,
and mapped out the seven heavens star by star, there still remains oneself. Who can
calculate the orbit of his own soul?
Which choice best describes the function of the underlined question in the text as a
whole?
A. It cautions readers that the text’s directions for how to achieve self-knowledge
are hard to follow.
B. It concedes that the definition of self-knowledge advanced in the text is
unpopular.
C. It reinforces the text’s skepticism about the possibility of truly achieving
self-knowledge.
D. It speculates that some readers will share the doubts expressed in the text
about the value of self-knowledge.
Step 1:
+ Read each text
+ Summarize main idea:
Text 1: Despite its popularity, how well-written it may be, its complexity and
historical significance, literary scholars have long neglected food writing,
especially regional US cuisine cookbooks

That is: Clarification/ Emphasis
In fact: Đưa ra thông tin surprising, unexpected
Admittedly = Granted (tương đương However): acknowledge a point that can weaken
argument/ point in SVO2
Phân biệt However và Nevertheless:
+ However: Giữa SVO1 và SVO2 neutral (giống như “but”)

(SVO1 still go with SVO2)
Example:
With its clichéd imagery of suburban lawns and power lines, John Ashbery’s 2004
poem “Ignorance of the Law Is No Excuse” may seem barren terrain for critical analysis.
______ cultural critic Lauren Berlant finds fertile ground in just its first two stanzas,
devoting most of a book chapter to deciphering the “weight of the default space”
Ashbery creates in this poem.
Which choice completes the text with the most logical transition?
A. This option isn't suited for beginning a narrative. It jumps to the end, explaining
the success of VGHS without explaining what it is.
B. This option doesn't actually introduce the web series by name. It just jumps to
later in the story without sufficient explanation.
C. This is the best option. It introduces Wong and VGHS in an active and specific
way, as if to an audience unfamiliar with the series. It also sets up the time and
genre of the web series, which are useful ways to introduce the series of events
in a narrative.
D. This choice is not very effective for beginning a narrative. It doesn't explain what
VGHS is, and it doesn’t mention Wong.
