Static equilibrium shoreline models are used to predict tombolo and salient formations for both
natural and man-made coastal structures. Offshore breakwaters are generally shore-parallel
structures that effectively reduce the amount of wave energy reaching a protected stretch of
shoreline. One of the main problems in designing these coastal structures is the prediction of the
shoreline response. A system is said to be in static equilibrium when all of its parts are at rest and
there is no net force acting on it. When all the forces pulling on an object are in balance and it is
not moving concerning the relative plane, the object is said to be in static equilibrium. A static
equilibrium prevents an object from moving.

Any system that is in a state of static equilibrium has all of its forces and torques added together
to equal zero. It is just a system's equilibrium where all its components are resting. Here, students
can get additional information about static equilibrium. It describes the physical situation in
which all of the elements of a system are at rest and there is no net force acting on the system.
When all the forces pulling on an object are in balance and it is not moving concerning the
relative plane, the object is said to be in static equilibrium.

When two forces are identical in size but acting in the opposite direction, static equilibrium is at
its most basic. For instance, the force of gravity pulls something down when it is on a level
surface (i.e., its weight). The surface beneath the object counteracts the object's downward force
by exerting an equal upward force. This circumstance involves no acceleration and no net force.

An object can become immobile when pushed horizontally against a horizontal surface because
the applied force is countered by a force of static friction between the object and the surface.
There is no acceleration in this situation because the static friction force balances the applied
force.

"If there is no net force acting on a body, equilibrium is considered to exist. Newton's first law of
motion states that a body will remain at rest or move uniformly in a straight path if no additional
or net forces are applied to it. A book on a table or a picture hanging on a wall are two examples
of objects that are at rest. The table's upward movement counteracts the downward weight of the
book. The resultant force acting on a leveled road and an airplane flying in the air are examples
of bodies in equilibrium for objects traveling at uniform velocity.

For an object to be in static equilibrium, there must be no motion of any kind, including
translational and rotational motion. Additionally, a moving object is not possible when an object
is in translational equilibrium. An item that is in rotational equilibrium, however, is
unquestionably not revolving around an axis. The vector total of all external forces must be zero
for translational equilibrium to exist. Additionally, the strength and directions of external forces
cancel one another out. All external torques must cancel one another out for rotational balance to
exist. Unquestionably, static equilibrium is a useful analytical tool. The fact that two forces
acting on an item in static equilibrium add up to zero is particularly remarkable.
