emergence of early prehistoric and classical Architectural structures, civilizations, and
discoveries/influences that led to the development of present modern styles of
Architecture.

the evolution of early architectural styles.

design theories of famous architects, design composition techniques, and basic
elements of design and planning that led to the development of present modern
styles of Architecture.
IV. Pre-requisite:
V. Course Objectives:
1. To enable the students to learn and discover historical events and developments in
the evolution of early architectural styles.
2. To enable the students to understand and familiarize the different architectural
principles of composition and elements of architectural design which are essential
factors in their higher architectural design subjects.
3. To enable the students to appreciate and discover different architectural styles and
design theories/principles of both world-known foreign and local architects together
with their famous works and masterpieces.

classical period of the Renaissance Architectural structures, civilizations, and
discoveries/influences that led to the development of present modern styles of
Architecture.

III. Course Description: This course covers the final preparation of Architectural Thesis projects
for defense presentations and the application of all architectural concepts and
feasibility studies in actual design projects.
V. Course Objectives:
1. To enable the students to present actual architectural presentation drawings for
their proposed thesis projects.
2. To enable the students to understand and familiarize the different methods in thesis
writing, research, and oral defense presentations.
3. To enable the students to formulate and prepare a comprehensive feasibility studies
to support the marketing, financial, technical, and socio-economic aspects of their
proposed projects.

III. Course Description: This course covers the formulation of complex project proposals and
architectural programming requirements (pre-thesis) in preparation for the thesis
defense proper (Architectural Design 10) for graduating students.
V. Course Objectives:
1. To enable the students to create and formulate an actual study of architectural project
proposals which is a pre-requisite for their thesis defense proper.
2. To enable the students to develop their communication skills and initiative in data
gathering for their project proposals.
3. To enable the students to enhance further their ability and creativity in preparing
project proposals especially schematic studies, site planning and preliminary
architectural presentations.
