What does ‘Halal’ and ‘Halal food’ mean?

"Halal" is an Arabic term that, in Islamic contexts, means "lawful, permissible". Muslims are
supposed to live their lives by this concept, with its connotations of cleanliness, integrity and
self-restraint.

By Islamic law, all foods are considered halal, or lawful, except for pork and its by-products,
animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering, animals slaughtered in the name
of anyone but Allah (God), carnivorous animals, birds of prey, animals without external ears

Training
The Halal status of certified products, a basis for measuring the standard of many products
today, is viable to jeopardy if food technicians and other professionals in the food industry are
not properly trained. Training these professionals is an important precautionary measure and
will in turn, prevent the occurrence of mistakes.

We believe in minimal instances of cross-contamination and assurance on complete traceability

throughout the entire supply chain is mandatory to keep up with the status of certified Halal
foods. Therefore each segment of industrial production, food technicians, and other food-
related professionals must receive proper training as a precautionary measure to avoid such
errors. The Halal certification is keen on avoiding, by all means, the transfer of contaminants
between food products and the tracking of the pattern of transfer or flow by adopting and
analyzing the entire supply chain.
