Financial technology as a mechanism to promote financial inclusion in the Arab

world- Middle East and North Africa Case Study

Abstract:
This study is an attempt to analyze, compare and classify financial inclusion indicators in the
Arab world as well as and to highlight the reality of financial technology in the Arab world and the
ability of the latter to provide new and innovative forms of financial and banking products in order to
establish financial inclusion in the Arab world through using the analytical descriptive approach of
data and indicators sourced from international organizations such as the Arab Monetary Fund and the
Union of Arab Banks.
This study came up with a set of results, the most important of which is, that the Arab region
has the lowest levels of financial inclusion in the worl , where only about 37% of adults in Arab
countries have bank accounts, or about 160 million Arab people or 63% of adults excluded from
financial services despite the concentration of companies Financial technology in the Arab Gulf
states).
