B.2 Natural and man-made hazards for climate change issues.

According to hazardhunter.georisk.gov.ph/ Malita campus has three main natural hazards.

These hazards are seismic, Volcanic and Hydro-meteorological. The nearest active fault is the Tangbulan
Fault which 7.1 kilometers from the campus. When the fault moves, the campus is prone to ground
shaking, tsunami and generally susceptible to liquefaction. The nearest Active Volcano is Mt. Matutum
which is 59 km away and the nearest potentially inactive volcano and inactive volcano is Mt. Apo (73.1
km) and Mt Tangdi (22.8 km) and prone to ashfall if volcanic eruption may occur. The assessment shows
that the campus has low susceptibility to less than 0.5 meters flood height and or less than 1 day
flooding. Severe wind of 60.1 -88 kph (20 -year return period); 88.1-117 kph (500 – year return period)
and low potential of storm surge may experience. Potential erosion due to high waves is expected
during Monsoon Season.
