 What do you use in preparing juice? Salad? Sandwiches?
C Lesson Proper
A mixture can come in many form like solid, liquid and gas. A mixture is
formed by combining two or more substances that are physically and not
chemically combined
Homogeneous refers to a substance that is consistent or uniform throughout its
volume. They consist of a single phase, be it liquid, solid or gas. No matter
where you sample them or how closely you examine them.
Example: Air
Heterogeneous mixture is a mixture having a non-uniform composition. The
composition varies from 1 region to another, with at least two phases that
remain separate from each other, with clearly identifiable properties. If you
examine a sample of a heterogeneous mixture, you can separate components.
Example: salad
D Activity
The teacher will group the learners into 3 groups. Each group will be given
different substance for the experiment and follow the direction of the teacher.
Direction:
1. Half fill the cup with tap water
2. Add teaspoon of the provided substance per group. Stir well.
3. Leave the set-up for about one minute
4. Observe what happened. (write on the table)
