INDIVIDUAL GAME PROPOSAL

TITLE
If you are given the chance to select a recreational game for the class, what would be the recreational game you
choose? Give the name that can describe your recreational game.

Pulang Langit

RATIONALE
Give a short statement of the purpose or reason of your game for the class. Here you may also include an
overview of your activity.

As Hannah Montana likes to say, “You get the best of both worlds.” As the title is Pulang Langit, this is an
infusion of both Korean and Filipino traditional games. “Langit” from the Filipino game Langit Lupa, and
“Pula,” which means red, from the Red Light, Green Light, or the “Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida” ( 무궁화
꽃 이 피었 습니다 ) from the famous Korean Netflix show, Squid Game. Due to the increasing Hallyu wave,
most young adults or teenagers have watched or heard the Squid Game series from Netflix. With that, the
infusion of the cultures would provide fun and enjoyment, promote globalization, and promote both cultures.

OBJECTIVES
List down at least two objectives that you wish your participants to achieve at the end of the activity.

 To have fun and play for enjoyment;


 To facilitate a collaborative culture;
 To encourage physical activity;
 To learn both cultures through their traditional games;
 To develop positive social interaction skills and relationships; and,
 To practice sportsmanship.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PARTICIPANTS
Write the information about your participants who are fit to participate in your activity. Ex. Kid or adult, and
female or male to secure the game is relevant for them or not.

Pulang Langit aims to be a set of activities that anyone could play. But, specifically, a teenager to young adult is
the target audience of Pulang Langit. All genders could play this game—male, female, or any nonbinary person.
Overall, anyone can play this game, whether a kid or an adult, or whether a female or male.

MECHANICS OF THE GAME


Write instructions or the rules on how to play the actual game for the participants.

The Pulang Langit game combines Langit Lupa and Red Light, Green Light. With that, here are the mechanics
of the game:
A. Pulang Langit Mechanics
a. The players will pick the “It” through singing the Langit Lupa song:
Langit, lupa impyerno, im – im – impyerno.
Sak-sak puso tulo ang dugo.
Patay, buhay, Umalis ka na sa pwesto mong mabaho!
b. When the song stops and a player is pointed at, they are “out” and the last person left is the taya
or “It.”
c. After picking the “It,” the rest of the players stand on one end of the playing area, at the starting
line. At the finish line, the “It” person stands at the other end.
d. The person who's “It” stands with his back to the group. The “It” says, “Langit, lupa impyerno!”
Then quickly turns around to face the group.
e. While the “It” is facing away from the group, the people in the group run towards the finish line.
Meanwhile, as soon as the one who's “It” finishes saying, “Langit, Lupa impyerno!” the “It”
quickly turns around to face the group. The group must freeze and stay on a “clamber” above the
Lupa “ground level.” Anyone seen moving or in the ground has to hold hands with the one who's
“It.” After the 1st person joins hands with the one who's “It,” the other people caught moving or
caught in staying in the ground will join hands with the other people who caught, forming a
chain.
f. The game continues like this until someone reaches the finish line and touches the person who's
“It.” Then everyone runs away while the one who's “It” tries to catch them. Everyone needs to
cross the finish line and stand on an object. Anyone who crosses the finish line but fails to stand
on a thing to be in “langit” can be caught by the “It.”
g. After seven rounds, the person who becomes the “It” the most will crawl under the legs of all
players. If all the 7 “It’s” are separate people, then all 7 of them will crawl under the legs of all
other players.

BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS
If you wish to have a budget for your game, how much will be the cost and the breaking down of expenses?

Pulang Langit is a game you can play anywhere, anytime. The game aims to be an activity where the
participants can do this whenever they want to. With that, there will be no budget for this activity. Though
stipulated in the materials that tables and chairs are needed, these come with the available tables and chairs in
the classrooms. The idea in the game is that this will be played during the year-end party in a closed gym. Due
to the gym not having places where you can be on the “langit,” the activity will need those materials mentioned.
