Justification
or decreases academic achievement is due to the conflicting research available to the public.
Some of these activities are in form of athletics, social clubs, academic clubs, and religious
organizations. Often, parents encourage participation in such activities so that their children will
be more competitive. However, many students fall into the low economic status, possess low
competence and seldom achieve high academic status. Frequently, students who grow up in a
low income families, and are influenced by negative social factors, experience feelings of
powerlessness. This makes it crucial for educators to identify the hidden talents and abilities of
these students and enable them to excel academically. Assessment of the effects of
extracurricular activity participation proves simple due to the common features among different
activities.
This study will aim to determine the impact of extracurriculars on academic performance

1.4 general weighted average (for S.Y. 2020-2021 and S.Y. 2021-2022)

Research Design
This study will use descriptive research design employing a survey technique.
Descriptive research using survey technique will be suitable for this study to see a general
picture of the population under investigation, to describe the nature of existing conditions, or to
determine the relationship that exist between or among specific variables of the study.
Participants
The participants of this study will be the senior high students of Pili National High
School.
A grade 11 or 12 students
